21.01.2022 Mini interview series (Part 1/3). Starting with my sister Alisha who has lived in Vietnam for almost 3 years. Currently working on an orange farm, I asked if she could share more on her connection to the earth. I’ve always felt a deep connection to nature. I feel the deepest connection to my self/spirit when I am barefoot and surrounded by trees. Nature is abundant in every sense of the word. Any healing, desire, answer you can find it residing beneath an old oak or fluttering through marigolds. Every moment I’m grateful for what it provides. I encourage everyone to take space in nature, rest your palms to the earth, breathe in her love and breathe out yours back into her roots.

04.01.2022 Did you know the person who invented "skin types" like dry, oily, combination and normal wasn't even a dermatologist, but a marketing pro and beauty brand owner!? She turned common real skin issues such as dryness and oil into abnormal issues that sent people straight to her products (and which of course were meant to fix everything). Normal and sensitised skin reacts to the world around and underneath it. Rather than skin "types", perhaps it helps to think of our skin as r...esponding to, stress, diet, genetics, and/or our environment. Our skin is very fluid and always changing like our lives. It does not support our self-esteem when trying to decide which skin type we belong in..what if you feel you don't fit into any? Skin brands have manipulated the mind into thinking our skin is either good or bad, and that clear skin equals confidence! I can often think of times I've thought "when I have clear skin, I'll do this and be like that, and in the end I’ve created this person who doesn't even really exist. Our skin isn’t a type, it’s just responsive and trying to communicate with us. Instead of forcing it into submission, we should be focusing on supporting it with simple products that work to balance and restore the skins natural microbiome.

02.01.2022 This photograph shows the fortuitous rainbow light across my head (although I like to think of it as intentional by the spirits) is a reminder of the balance I need in my life. @wanganellacottage is such a restorative space, surrounded by established plants along the billabong even with a mulberry tree.. I found one tiny one left hehe. A space that was mostly technology free for us, where we played board games, tennis, swam, wrote in our journals, ate hearty fruits, veg and slept.
