25.01.2022 Time is going quickly and we will soon be flying out to the Hansa World Championships in Japan. We have shared the sailing profiles of our fabulous young sailors and our dedicated teachers. Now I would like to share with you more members of Team Shoalhaven, that will be heading over to Japan. We have the wonderful husband and wife duo of Cathy & Perry Cousins. They have been volunteering for Sailability since our early days out at Callala Bay. ... Their dedication to our branch and all that it strives to achieve is nothing short of remarkable. Without volunteers such as Cathy & Perry, it would not be possible to make a trip like this a reality. Perry is our dedicated Safety Boat Driver, ensuring that all runs smoothly on the water and that all our sailors are safe and well. Cathy is our Pontoon Master and is in charge of making sure that everything runs to schedule and that our sailors have a happy and safe transition into and out of the boats. They will be supporting our sailors, showing them the same dedication & care in Japan, as they do each and every week on the Shoalhaven River.
24.01.2022 I would like to introduce you to another member of Team Shoalhaven, Hayley Millsom. Hayley has been sailing since she was 11 and started her sailing with the junior sailing school at Callala Bay. Hayley progressed her way through the ranks and has sailed a variety of different boats and has competed in numerous regatta's. She has just returned from the US, where she was working as a sailing instructor at a children's summer camp. Hayley is an accomplished sailor and has mentored as a youth leader in the Shoalhaven for many years, as well as volunteering with Sailability during our school holiday programs. Hayley and Jade will be sailing in the 303 Doubles division and will make a formidable team. Go the girl power!

24.01.2022 Today I would like to introduce you to our Team Shoalhaven Cheer Squad, Max and Carter. These boys have been around sailing and have been part of our Sailability sailing days, since they were little. If I went to sailing, then so did they. Max has even competed at the Hansa Nationals in Goolwa, SA when he was 7, doing 303 Double with his big brother. This will be the first time they will travel overseas and they are very excited to see their friend Yui Fujimoto when we get there. They will be cheering on our sailors and helping out through the regatta.

They may not be the fastest boats on the water but they are learning a great deal and making lots of new friends.

07.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that I share with you the very sad passing of Robert 'Bob' Glendinning. Bob was a man of iron will and a heart bigger than most. Bob and Chris had been part of our Sailability family for many years and even when Bob was too sick to volunteer anymore, he and Chris would come down to have a cuppa and a chat. Bob volunteered for many organisations and we are just very grateful that he was part of ours! Back in the early days at Callala, Bob would always... be the one to volunteer to be out in the water amongst the seaweed, swimming around catching the boats as they came in. He was an absolute trooper! As a mark of respect to Bob, the Shoalhaven team heading to Japan will dedicate their first race to the gentle giant of our sport, Bob Glendinning. RIP beautiful man, you will be forever part of our Sailability family and sadly missed by all. Sending our deepest condolences to Chris and family xxx See more
