24.01.2022 Some of the Sailability Bendigo crew went down to the lake today for a Working Bee. We checked over all of the boats and equipment, sanitised everything and got it all ready for our first sailing session next Wednesday! Keen to see you all there next week! 20.01.2022 Paralympics Australia (in conjunction with Athletics Australia, Swimming Australia, Basketball Australia & Rowing Australia), are hosting regional classification days in Victoria, including para-athletics, para-swimming, wheelchair basketball and para-rowing. As seen above, Paralympics Australia have identified several regional locations across Victoria for June, July and August. Classification is the process of grouping athletes based on the impact of their impairment on th...eir functional ability in sport. The classification process follows the Para-sport classification rules for each individual sport and an athlete will need to have an eligible impairment type and meet the minimal impairment criteria for the relevant sport, to be allocated a sport class for competition. The classification opportunities target athletes with an eligible physical impairment of limb loss or limb deficiency, hypertonia, ataxia, athetosis or dystonia, short stature, impaired muscle power, impaired passive range of motion and/or leg length difference. If you know of an athlete who may have an eligible physical impairment and wishes to be classified, please share this with them! 13.01.2022 During our sailing session tomorrow, we're set to see every season in one day! Please ensure you bring along a hat, sunscreen, and - if possible - a long-sleeved top to protect yourself again the UV rays. We have hats, sunscreen, and water for you if you need them. We'll have lots of wind, which will make for some great sailing! And the afternoon will be capped off with a thunderstorm. We'll be finished our sessions by then so there's no risk to you. ...
