11.01.2022 To all past & present Sailors if you can spare a minute to fill out the below and try and Save our river. As we found out at our recent Manning Point Regatta the sand is choking up the river and needs to be dredged moves are afoot to lobby State and Federal representatives to finally do something about the entrances to the Manning River ....Manning Point / Harrington & Farquhar Inlet..... It is envisaged that the Northern Entrance would become a permanent "navigable" entranc...e and that the South Channel would have a permanent "non navigable" entrance to allow the exchange of sea water into the South Channel. The first major hurdle in fulfilling this vision is to lobby our Mid Coast Council Councilors and demonstrate to them that this community is expecting their united support....... Please read the attached info from a local advocacy group "Love the Manning River" and please forward your support ..... This may well be one of "those' opportunities that will not arise again for many years............
