21.01.2022 It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing this week of Rob Hampshire, the ever-smiling and long-serving frontman of our Sailing Admin office. Rob was an honorary member of Corlette Point Sailing Club and an integral part of the success of SPS for 12 years. His balance of professionalism and people skills helped set a happy and relaxed tone for the event, for competitors, organisers and volunteers alike. His infectious nature resulted in half of Port Stephens bec...oming Geelong Cats fans. Aged 68 and taken far too soon by cancer, Rob is survived by wife Sharon, son Guy and daughter-in-law Ali plus grandkids Amelia, Declan and Patrick, to whom we pass on our sympathies. He will be greatly missed by the Sail Port Stephens community. RIP. See more

17.01.2022 From beating sun and bullets of 20+ knots on the start line to barely any wind, lightning, rain squalls and a rainbow as a southerly change loomed, Day 2 of the 2019 Commodores Cup had it all. #StayHome and enjoy this video by Hover UAV, with thanks to Destination NSW, Port Stephens Council and our sponsors. 2021 dates are April 19-25.

16.01.2022 The Olympic-class Finn was designed in the 1950s but still has what it takes, with 20 boats enjoying some great racing at Bay Sailing Centre during our Off-the-Beach regatta. 16.01.2022 Talk about a Happy New Year! Entry for SPS21 has gone live at https://www.topyacht.com.au/db/kb/1359 as has the Notice of Race at http://www.sailportstephens.com.au//2020/12/NoR-2021-v2.pdf. While we'd love to see as many of you as possible, we strongly suggest you have a berth or mooring secured before entering to avoid disappointment. It's a COVID hangover we just can't avoid this time around.

15.01.2022 We deeply regret to advise that Sail Port Stephens is now officially CANCELLED for April 2020 in line with tighter restrictions imposed this week by NSW Health authorities, and following extensive consultation with sponsors and stakeholders. Ultimately the health of competitors and the community was paramount in these unpredictable and unprecedented circumstances. We trust this early announcement will assist those requiring re-booking or reimbursement on their accommodation and berthing. Please contact your providers. While this position will be reviewed if regulations change, please note that dates for 2021 are 19-25 APRIL. We thank our sponsors, suppliers and competitors for their loyal support and look forward to welcoming you back to Nelson Bay in 2021.

13.01.2022 The penultimate day of Sail Port Stephens 2019 threw up another mixed bag for the 150-boat fleet contesting various divisions and class titles. Hover UAV catches the on-water Sailebrations, and we'll be back later today with a final video by Tillylockmedia.

13.01.2022 Final day action from Sail Port Stephens 2019 by Tillylockmedia, capturing wild sports boat capsizes to classic offshore racing.

09.01.2022 Sadly we can't be there today, but throughout this week we'll be reliving the fun from last year's SPS with a daily video. For Race 1 of the Commodores Cup, afternoon temperatures peaked at 31 degrees, accompanied by fading nor’west winds that made the going tough for the course around Cabbage Tree, Little and Boondelbah islands. More details at http://www.sailportstephens.com.au/winds-of-change-for-ope/. And don't forget next year's dates - April 19-25 2021.

08.01.2022 Incredible by sail as well! A great new campaign by our event supporters Destination NSW

08.01.2022 She's blowin' a gale today but not so on the corresponding opening day of the 2019 Pantaenius Yacht Insurance Port Stephens Trophy, with delays to the start of racing due to light airs. Check out the daily vid by Tilly Lock, with special thanks to Destination NSW.

05.01.2022 An eye-watering compilation by Tillylockmedia that will hopefully have you coming back for more next year. We're grateful to all those who accepted the cancellation so gracefully and can't wait to see you 19-25 April 2020. Stay safe.

05.01.2022 Commiserations to HIRW organisers and competitors alike. We can only make next year bigger and better.

03.01.2022 A great new multi-port regatta is in the wind, bringing a fleet to sunny Port Stephens in August this year!

01.01.2022 A few more knots and a few more boats would've been good, but the Australian Sports Boat Association NSW Titles at Sail Port Stephens were another runaway success. Congratulations to Malcolm Dean and crew of The Stig, who added the NSW crown to their two consecutive national and Queensland titles. Dean was pretty impressed with the race committee as well: I’m going to buy them all a beer this afternoon. Results at http://www.topyacht.net.au/results/2021//sports/series.htm.
