23.01.2022 Today we welcomed Member for Capricornia Hon. Michelle Landry, together with Director of Catholic Education, Diocese of Rockhampton, Leesa Jeffcoat AM to officially open our completed capital works project. We thank all of our invited guests, including Fathers Bryan and Matthias, Barry O’Rourke Member for Rockhampton, Tony Madden (Tony Madden Architects and Design), Boyd Hall (BT Builders), parents and staff, as well as our Year 5 and 1 classes, who joined us for this special occasion.

22.01.2022 Today Frankie, Flynn, Cash and Harper visited the office staff to present their Curiosity Projects, which they have been working on as part of their Year 4 Homework this term. We learnt about the human brain, the history of the Spanish language, rocket ships and some other interesting facts including why our knee caps move!



21.01.2022 Thanks to the parents and caregivers, grandparents and friends who came along to see Year Five's interactive board games last week. The students loved sharing their projects!

21.01.2022 St Joseph’s Wandal Outside School Hours Care (OSHC Before/After School Care and Vacation Care) Hello families, my name is Jacqualine. I will be the Acting OSHC Co-ordinator while Miss Hailey is on maternity leave here at St Joseph’s Wandal OSHC. I am a mum of two and previously worked as a hairdresser for 9 years. After deciding on a career change, I have enjoyed working here since September 2019 and am currently studying towards my Diploma in Early Childhood and Education ...and Care. 20.01.2022 Today is a pupil free, staff learning day. Our staff have joined with the staff of St Peter’s and St Joseph’s Park Avenue for a day of preofessional development on Growth Mindset and Habits of Mind.



20.01.2022 What a great way to end Term 3, a staff vs students Touch Football game! It was a close game, with staff claiming the win (despite allegations of cheating ). Thank you to our Penola House Captains for organising the fun.

19.01.2022 Today is Early Childhood Educators' Day. Early Childhood Educators' Day recognises and celebrates the work of Australia's educators in early learning services for their wonderful contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in their care. It's a chance to say thank you to Australia’s early childhood educators on a very personal level by service operators, families and their children, as well as collectively at the national level. Thank you Hailey, Colleen, Jacqualine, Maddy & Brielle!

18.01.2022 It’s Pyjamas and Pizza Day at Vacation Care today! Much fun has been had in the first week of the school holidays and our OSHC staff have more entertainment lined up for next week.

16.01.2022 This term the Year Three students have explored Australia as part of an Integrated studies. Each child choose a state or territory of interested and created an informative presentation and visual art piece. In Science the students were learning about the sun, moon and Earth. Students created a model to explain the relationship between them. Thank you to all the parents who were able to visit our Australian Art Exhibition last night and to the students who came and visited today.

06.01.2022 Some warm weather is forecast for this last week of school. We are fortunate to have every room in the school air conditioned so students will feel cool and comfortable. Lunch Club and the Library will be available for students who do not wish to play outside at lunchtime. We ask all parents/carers to ensure that all students bring a water bottle and that sunscreen is applied before school.

06.01.2022 Today is Indigenous Literacy Day. This year, the event was hosted online, which meant that students everywhere could join in, learning about Indigenous song, language and stories. Here are our Preps learning a song shared by Jessica Mauboy 'The Barramundi Song' sung in two Indigenous languages Tiwi and Mangarrayi, as well as English.

06.01.2022 This term as part of Religion, Year 3 have been learning about what life was like in Ancient Palestine. Today, students came dressed in clothing from that era, played games that Jesus might have played and sampled some traditional Ancient Palestinian food.

06.01.2022 Today, Year Four welcomed families to a Science Open Afternoon. It started with a Scavenger Hunt based on our learning from during the term and finished with a showcase of our work in the Hall. Thank you to the families who participated, it was a fun and informative afternoon!
