Father Milad Azzi, LMO. Condolences are being held at: St Charbels Monastery Friday and Saturday 18 & 19 September 2020 5:00pm to 8:30pm St Nemetallah Centre Appin. Sunday 20 September after 11:00am Mass The funeral Service will be presided by His Excellency Bishop Antoine-Charbel Tarabay on Monday 21 September at 10:30am at St Charbels Church Punchbowl. May his soul rest in peace, in the eternal dwellings of light.

Since then, St Charbels Church and Monastery, St Charbels College and now St Charbels Care Centre have opened their doors to serve the Maronite and the broader community. This was all possible due to the tireless assistance and the generosity of the Maronite community, who never left our side. ( 20:36) On behalf of our Superior General the Most Reverend Abbot Neemtallah Hachem, the Assistant Generals of the Lebanese Maronite Order, Father Superior Boulos Melhem, and my brothers the Monks of St Charbels Monastery, it is with a very heavy heart that I write this message following the passing of our brother yesterda...y, Fr Milad Azzi. Fr Milad Azzi, joined the Lebanese Maronite Order as a young man in 1960, and was ordained a Priest in 1976. After his ordination he was appointed as a Maths Teacher in numerous LMO Colleges in Lebanon, whilst completing his Maths Degree at the Lebanese University. He graduated in 1982, and continued to teach Maths until 1990, whilst also assisting with the accountancy for various Monasteries. In 1992, Fr Milad Azzi was appointed Superior of St John in Richmayah, before being appointed in 2005 to St Charbels in Punchbowl. He was then appointed Parish Priest of St Marouns in Brisbane in 2007. Fr Azzi returned to St Charbels in Punchbowl in 2010 where he served until 2018, before moving to St Nehmetallah Centre, Appin. Fr Azzi was a well-loved Monk, having developed many strong relationships with our parishioners. During his time at St Charbels, he was Chaplain for various parish groups, including our Seniors Group and the Sodality of Immaculate Conception. God has called our beloved brother to Himself, where we believe that he is now enjoying the fullness of love, joy and peace for which he has longed for, and is promised to all those who love the Lord. We offer our condolences to His Excellency Bishop Antoine-Charbel Tarabay, our Superior General the Most Reverend Abbot Neemtallah Hachem and all the Monks of the Lebanese Maronite Order, especially Fathers Boulos Melhem and Peter Diab in Appin, and to Fr Azzis immediate and extended family in Australia and Lebanon. We have lost a friend, a brother, and a Father but we have gained a saintly advocate who is very aware of our needs. May his soul rest in peace. Fr Charbel Abboud Superior
