25.01.2022 Imagine not having access to a cool drink, a shady place to rest, a refreshing shower or even reprieve from the heat with a fan or air-conditioning on a day lik...e today. These simple things that some of us take for granted, are things that 1 in 200 Queenslanders simply do not have access to. This is where the services of Emmanuel City Mission are so vital. On sweltering days like today, we can welcome visitors through our doors and offer them cold drinks, a shower and a place out of the heat and sun. Please help us provide a sanctuary to the homeless and vulnerable and make a gift today https://bit.ly/3fYmyhb

08.01.2022 We were happy to celebrate the Mass this morning on Mary the Holy Mother of God feast day. For those who were unable to be with us you may like to see the New Years Eve Vespers from St Peter's Basilica.

07.01.2022 It was lovely to have Fr Ladu's relatives, Gabrielle and Angelina from South Sudan with us celebrating Mass on the feast of Mary, the Holy Mother of God, and also enjoying Fr Ladus' company on his birthday.

03.01.2022 "Today, today a Savior has been born a savior has been born for us, He is Christ the Lord, Christ the Lord, Jesus Christ the Lord." These are the words that rang out from our Church today during the singing of the Psalm at our 4 Christmas Masses. We wish you a blessed and safe Christmas and advise that the Parish office is closed until the 4th January.

02.01.2022 Saint Nicholas, Santa Claus or Kris Kringle . Today is the gift-givers feast day. The legend of Santa Claus can be traced back hundreds of years to a monk na...med St. Nicholas, born in 280 A.D. in a small Roman town in modern Turkey called Myra. He dedicated his life to serving God and was made the Bishop of Myra and was admired for his faithfulness, kindness, and generosity. It is said that he gave all of his inherited wealth to assisting the needy, the sick and the suffering; and there are many accounts of St Nicholas giving to those in desperate need anonymously, which leads to the Christmas traditions of Santa Claus. The name Santa Claus evolved from Nick’s Dutch nickname, Sinter Klaas. St Nicholas is the patron Saint of children. See more
