09.01.2022 To all of our members and supporters, Firstly, I must call out a massive thank you to all of our members and supporters for your continued patience and support ...throughout this extraordinary time. It has been immensely challenging to start our season and then pause all of the work our amazing volunteers, parents and players had put in to get the season underway. I am glad to say that we finally have some way forward. With the latest reduction in restrictions from the state government and Netball Qld lifting their ban on training, we will be back into training from this Sunday, starting with our QPL ladies. From Monday our junior competition teams and representative teams will commence their training. With this return to the training court, there will be a number of measures in place to ensure we comply with government regulations. Our COVID Safety Coordinator has been working hard on ensuring our plans meet requirements, and these will be forwarded on shortly. While we have had a small amount of push back about these plans and restrictions, I would ask everyone to keep in mind that we are only following guidelines and regulations that are put before us. These are not NDNA decisions and all junior sport should be following similar guidelines. This is about keeping our players and community safe in these uncertain times and we all need to support each other and work together to ensure that correct processes are being followed. The best news is that we can confirm that as things currently stand we plan to recommence our season on Saturday July 18th. We will still complete a 10 week season, with finals to be played through October with our Grand Final day on October 31st. This will include our Net Set Go program. How our Saturday game days will look is still unknown. When there is more clarity given by the government for the next stage of the lifting of restrictions, we will be able to structure our days to ensure we comply. We understand that by pushing in to October we will be running into issues with other sports and also heat. We are going into this with the full view that we are the ones moving out of our normal operating season, so we will have to be as flexible as possible to allow these last few weeks of our season to be completed. There are still no decisions made on our proposed Thursday night competition or walking netball and these will be made in the coming weeks. Once again, I thank you all for your patience and support and now that we have some vision of the way forward, I look forward to seeing you all back at the courts in the near future. Regards, Matthew Lusk President Nambour and Districts Netball Association
