20.01.2022 Well, the news for the Society keeps getting better & better within these Covid times. Robert & Fruncine Sainty from Launceston, have generously donated their 1...988 Volvo B10M / Hyliner to the Society for preservation. New to Westbus NSW in 1988, the coach went to Coachlink QLD before being bought by Rob's father George in 2001. Rob acquired the business from his father in 2005 with the coach initially operating the NE Coast service to Bridport along with numerous tours/charters across the state. The Sainty name has been involved in public transport across the north of TAS for over 50yrs and the Society are honored to be able to preserve part of their history along with another vehicle that serviced Tasmania for 20yrs. 19.01.2022 Important information in regards to today’s services. Route 776 , 6.45 am Bridport to Launceston, will operate as normal but with a high possibility that it will be greatly delayed as it gets closer to the city. Currently Lillydale road is closed due to snow. We expect the bus to be parked up until we can get through safely, if road conditions don’t allow this service will terminate and return to Scottsdale and Bridport . Pictures of Newnham this morning. Please share this information to your friends. Thanks Rob and Fruncine Sainty.

18.01.2022 Service 777 Derby to Launceston may be delayed today as it travels closer to Launceston due to Lillydale road closures because of snow. Will update later, sorry for any inconvenience.

18.01.2022 To all our smartcard holders. Due to an update on the transportme app, all saved passwords and usernames have been deleted from your device. This means you will not be able to ad funds to your card. If you do not remember either your password or username, please email us and we can reset them. Do not save your password or username until the app is updated later in the week. Please note this may take a while, as we anticipate quite a few customers who will be requesting this i...nformation. The app will be updated later in the week, and will have a better option for saving your password and username. I suggest you still save these elsewhere just in case. Contact email - [email protected] Please send your first and last name along with a new password in your email (a new username is not required) An email will be sent back to you when the reset has been done. It would be muchly appreciated if you could all share this post, so we can fix this issue as quickly as possible. Many thanks

12.01.2022 The transportme system continues to grow in stature. Our team is pleased to announce that the Tasmanian Government now supports Operators to adopt transportme.... The Department of State Growth in Tasmania have been supporting general access operators adopt our system in rural and regional locations across Tasmania as part of work to provide a more uniform and integrated ticketing solution across the State. This backing and support from the Department is yet a further vote of confidence for the fastest growing system in Australia. We welcome and thank the Department of State Growth for their support of the transportme system. Two new companies that have now contracted transportme because of this are Sainty's Bus Service and Lees Coaches. Thank you to Lees Coaches and Sainty's Bus Service, as well as the vote of confidence from the Department of State Growth in Tasmania!
