22.01.2022 It has been decided that Society activities will be suspended for the remainder of 2020. So there will be no meetings and unfortunately no Iris Show this year.

22.01.2022 This Convention has been POSTPONED UNTIL 2022. New dates to be confirmed later. The National Iris Convention which was to be held in South Australia this year. Please get in contact with us if you would like to join with us over the 5 days, we look forward to your company!

19.01.2022 Our 1st meeting for the year was held Tuesday 25th Feb Bev Lane "botanist"was our guest speaker an enjoyable evening was had by all as Bev spoke on some plants we all class as weeds that can be used as food. 15.01.2022 Next weeks meeting has been CANCELLED for various health reasons The July meeting will be a Q&A session. Confused about growing irises? Do they really change colour, when do I dig them, should I cut them back? Or what sort of soil do they like, why won't mine flower etc? No question too basic, or esoteric. Only silly questions are the ones you don't ask. So please come along, visitors very welcome. July meeting 7.30pm Tuesday 27th JULY , Unley Community Centre, Arthur St, Unley.

13.01.2022 My Bearded Iris Season is coming to a close.

13.01.2022 Hi Everyone,due to the current situation with the Covid -19 Virus our guest speaker has cancelled and as some of our members have other health issues we have decided to cancel our monthly meeting on March 24th at the Unley Community Centre. We will reassess the situation and notify all members if meetings are to be cancelled until our winter break.

Did you know that there are over 100,000 different registered irises. Come and see irises in bloom and meet some members of the Iris Society. 12.01.2022 Interested in joining the SA Iris Society, even if you can't always make meetings? We'd love to see whenever you can attend. As a member you will be able to exhibit at our annual show, either a cut stem or floral arrangement and yes, we do have novice categories, you will be eligible for any discounts we can provide with manufacturers etc. Also be part of a garden loving group and learn a lot about irises. Here is the membership form.

Come and find out, next Tuesday 23rd March, Unley Community Centre, Arthur St, Unley 7.30pm. Colleen Modra will be explaining all the different sorts of irises and how to grow them. Come as a visitor, meet other gardeners and find out about the SA Iris Society. All welcome.
