24.01.2022 Oh my!!!!! I have been overwhelmed with the huge initial response to our 2020 Xmas menu. The meal packs and champagne brunch boxes are proving to be extremely popular. I do not plan. to take any more orders than I can do beautifully and want to remind those planning on ordering to not wait too long - as I will likely need to close orders at some point (I will give notice before I do close orders).... Places for delivery are more than 50% full and in some areas we are approaching capacity. A reminder we will be delivering to the Greater Campbelltown, Central Coast and Newcastle areas on December 23rd and doing more local orders on Xmas Eve. There are also pick up options from Castlereagh and Orchard Hills on both days. To enquire, get a menu or to order - message me though our Facebook page or email [email protected]. 24.01.2022 Ready made grazing is a popular option for small gatherings (and with COVID small gatherings is the limit!) A set of grazing platters, made to our clients specifications. Wrapped and transported to your home..... Unwrap when ready and it’s eating time.... We pick the platters and utensils up after the event. It really is that easy!!!!! We routinely accept orders until about Wednesday lunchtime (and help if we can with late orders), although most of our orders come in Monday or Tuesday for pick up or delivery at the weekend.... 21.01.2022 I thought I'd have some fun this week and enter into NRL finals fever. With my husband, like many other locals, excited about the Penrith Panther's prospects this year, I thought I'd create something suitable to consume next Saturday night and (hopefully on Grand Final day). I have included some items that are a nod to the Panther's history, such as liquorice all sorts and chocolate soldiers, as well the milk that keeps hungry-thirsty at bay.... I am selling the box for $70 and delivering in the Penrith area next Saturday in time for the game as well as the pick up option from Castlereagh or Orchard Hills. My husband is of the opinion I should not worry about doing something similar for the other 3 teams left in the comp, but in the interests of impartiality, I will be releasing a Rabbits and Raiders box tomorrow. I WILL also do a Melbourne box but it will be a challenge. Hopefully it will also assist in households with non footy loving members as they could hand over the box and be left in peace (except for the yelling). 21.01.2022 SOLD!!!!!! Sometimes the day doesn’t work out entirely as planned. As a result of such an occurrence- we have two mixed sandwich platters (made an hour ago - like pictured below) that are without a home.... They usually sell for $55 but if you can pick up from Castlereagh today, our misfortune could be your good luck. If interested- message us and make an offer.
19.01.2022 WOW!!!! At salads and Sides we love that reaction when our customers receive our beautiful foods (see main photo below). As Winter moves behind and Spring fully takes over - many more people are asking for items from our wide platter range to take with them to their outdoor gathering.... We do have a wide platter menu - with items suitable for most occasions - but we are just as happy to modify or make an option on request. Our salads and sides are the perfect accompaniment to almost any get together. Message us on our Facebook page or email us to get us to send you our full product list or to order for next weekend (or for any time). 17.01.2022 Usually I exclusively talk about my beautiful products on this page but tonight I thought I'd go off script and share a little bit about myself. When I get home I am often greeted by our small menagerie. Introducing to my likers and followers P-Diddy (the alpaca), Biggie and Smalls (the goats), and the newest addition the Spice Girls (the bantams). Moopac will hopefully join the clan shortly.... Smalls doesn't always stay at ground level.

16.01.2022 XMAS ORDERS ARE OPEN!!!!!!!!! Our 2020 Xmas Product List is now available in the menu tab (and pictured below). Message us to order, enquire or to get us to send a copy of the menu. Customers can also purchase items from our regular price list at the prices stated.... We learnt a lot from 2019 and have improved our processes to ensure we can meet everyone's needs equally at this very busy time. One noticeable difference is that we are limiting the number of delivery places to that which we can comfortably handle. We will be delivering to the Central Coast, Newcastle and Liverpool/Campbelltown on the 23rd before concentrating on the more local areas on the 24th. 08.01.2022 We have a menu of standard platters - but Salads and Sides is always eager to modify to meet our client's needs. Today, a client was thinking of our brunch box that was thinking it was a breakfast box..... 'Nek Minit'...... Brekky Box..... and more YUM.....
08.01.2022 Brace yourselves for a couple of imminent announcements from the Salads and Sides brains trust.... 1. Tonight we will release our Christmas menu options and details for orders this year. Early warning 1 - after last year's learning curve we will need to cap the number of deliveries we do - so it will be first in and locked in and paid gets the spots........... 2. During COVID we have developed a number of new menu items that do not yet appear on our lists. We are working on the updated menus now. A small number of items will be deleted and a number of new items added. The new complete menu will be released by the end of the month and will have an effective date of October 14th (start of the second week of October) Early Warning 2 (and heads up for an opportunity) - We have also reviewed our pricing and, while our aim will always be to provide incredible value for money, when the new menu comes into effect there will be modest price rises for some items on the menu. **** The OPPORTUNITY part is our guarantee we will honour our current pricing for all orders placed and paid for by October 14th (for any order up until the end of the year and for all catering booked until the end of 2021). You can save $$$$ by planning ahead. Watch this space.... Exciting times!!!!
08.01.2022 Good afternoon to all my followers and supporters. I send out a lot of lovely platters every week and it makes me happy that so many people enjoy my platters. However, in my enthusiasm I have made one oversight.... My daughter has been visiting with me (yay) and highlighted to me that it would be way more environmentally friendly to encourage my customers, where they can, to return the (very sturdy) platters after use for me to wash and reuse. And it occurred to me that some of my regular customers would have quite a collection- probably in excess of their daily needs. So, I am asking that if you have platters that once housed our beautiful foods you consider returning them when you get an opportunity - either when you are going past or when you get your next order. There is no expectation on anyone but it IS an excellent idea (if they are just taking up cupboard space. If you have a few, message me and I’ll try to pick them up when I can. In other news - just making these desserts for a catered dinner early this evening. YUM!!! (The lemon meringue in the bottom corner is yet to have the meringue join in). And perhaps have a picnic for lunch, dinner or even brekkie.... No wonder we have so many picnic boxes, grazing boxes and sandwich and fruit platters going out over the weekend..... 06.01.2022 So often when we receive enquiries about grazing, boxes or platters for a party we are asked 'can you do anything for my Gluten Free guests' Our answer is YES WE CAN. The highest praise was this morning when we sent this individual plate along with several platters and the comment was 'I wish I was Gluten Free right now'.......... You're Welcome....
04.01.2022 A further update on our amazingly popular Xmas menu. We have now reached: - more than 50% of our capacity for all orders for Xmas Eve. - capacity for pickups from Orchard Hills on Xmas Eve - we cannot take any further orders for this option. ... - near capacity for deliveries to some areas. If requesting delivery please include the delivery address requested. The collection option for Castlereagh still has vacancies at this time. To enquire about our options or to place an order for Xmas - please message us on this page or email [email protected]. At current rate of booking, we expect delivery options will be full well before November and ALL bookings full a good few weeks before Xmas. 03.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone. I promised to give you updates regarding availability for orders for our Xmas menu. From this Friday, I will be unable to take any further orders for delivery on Xmas Eve to all areas except for the Penrith, Blacktown, Hawkesbury and Mount Druitt Local Government Areas and the lower Blue Mountains. Should these areas come close to being fully booked for delivery I will give appropriate notice.... We are still taking orders for delivery on December 23rd to other areas including The Central Coast, Newcastle, Liverpool and Campbelltown. Pickup from our production facility at 975 Castlereagh Road is still available - but orders for pickup from Orchard Hills are closed. 03.01.2022 THE PACK IS BACK IN 2021!!!! The very popular traditional meal pack, is back due to popular demand. It will be available until the end of this March. Order now for your gathering next weekend or just to relieve mum from having to cook one night next week without breaking the bank.... It feeds a family of 4-6 and,as it is made fresh to order, will last for days in the fridge. To remind you. It is $65 and includes: Lasagne(2kg), potato bake (2kg), baby leaf garden salad (1kg), pasta salad (1kg), fruit salad (1kg), home made baguette sized garlic bread You can add additional items from our menu but unfortunately we don't do substitutions as it just gets, well, confusing. It was sent as a lovely gesture from a friend who wanted to reach out and just say 'I'm thinking of you.' It is inspiring to me to see the number of people 'paying it forward' during the current pandemic.
