19.01.2022 Our meeting with HCC management last night was a very productive one, with lots of good news coming for the stallholders. The first one - the "no dogs" policy is now going to be highly visible signage, and cards distributed so they can be handed to those who still remain uninformed...

17.01.2022 Want to get to the market? The free Salamanca Shuttle bus runs in a continuous loop between the Hobart city centre and Salamanca Market every Saturday from 9.00... am to 2.00 pm. This is a great solution if you are worried about finding parking near the market. Park in any of the city centre carparks and catch the free shuttle bus to the market. Over the next two weeks, the Salamanca Shuttle bus will also do a route to the Regatta Grounds where you can park for free from Monday to Saturday until 6.00 pm. The last bus will leave at 5.30 pm It’s a bright green bus...you won’t miss it! For more information and a route map, visit www.salamancamarket.com.au

15.01.2022 Council have provided the SMSA with some interesting stats on use of the Salamanca Shuttle service. Happily, usage of the service is increasing. The graph shows a blip in Nov and Dec, however this is due to Nov having 4 Saturdays instead of 5, a December service being cut short due to the Toy Run, and a particularly wet Dec market.

08.01.2022 When I buy a product that states it is "Tasmanian", I want to know that it is Tasmanian owned, not another Chinese enterprise. Iconic Salamanca Market tries to keep Tasmanian product focus, and we feel it should be made a priority state wide. We need higher awareness on ownership of local businesses, so we can vote with our feet and wallets. Good on you Jan Cameron for raising that awareness.

07.01.2022 Absolutely love dogs. But we do have a "no dogs" policy which the SMSA supports. Recently I witnessed a dog put his leg up and pee on stallholder display and merchandise. Eeeeek! So - maybe this kind of sign will catch attention ?
