24.01.2022 :: Show and Tell :: Today I get to work with an ambitious business owner who wants to get clear on her proposition, her messaging and how to access her target audience. Having been there and done that, this half day strategy session will have her set up with a route she can navigate into next year. We are setting her up for success.... Business Development coaching? I love to share my tactics and see people fly!
24.01.2022 I held a safe space for a Yr12 student yesterday. Her father contacted me after discussing this crazy year at school, her lack of motivation, her overwhelm with all the uncertainty. She had no idea what her future may look like when she gets her results at the end of the year.... it was a privilege to walk her through her thinking, her strengths, what she could and couldn’t control. What may motivate her... what might get in the way... sometimes taking advice from a family ...member of friend can be hard. She admitted to being so driven it showed up as stubbornness. Speaking with someone independent gave her a differing perspective. We both came away with new perspectives I think. #grateful #workingwithacoachisspecial #careercoach #hope #optimism #control #clarity #confidence

12.01.2022 Zoom-Zoom for 120 days... and counting! From kitchen benches, in the car/ on the go audio meetings to permanent office set up: zoom life is real life. Interesting read on how Zoom fatigue sets in... and what we can do to combat this. I’m so used to meeting clients in cafes and boardrooms I completely relate! ... Keeping active having plenty of breaks is key to managing Zoom fatigue. I’m also seeing an increase in the good old fashioned phone call. .....While Zoom lets our mind dial in, our body is left behind, stuck in the chair. We know that a sedentary lifestyle contributes to increased feelings of stress, depression, and diminished well-being. A day spent on Zoom is draining not just emotionally but also physically.... https://dailyhive.com/seattle/how-to-combat-zoom-fatigue

05.01.2022 Recommended Read I’ve been investing in reading about resilience lately. This time of year is always challenging as I remember my dear mum, taken too soon and only 6 months after losing my dad. A double whammy of trauma and grief unfolded for a while there. Reading ‘Resilient Grieving’ helped me resolve a few things but more importantly the strategies to cope when dealing with loss were relatable to what’s happening with so many people facing redundancy and unemployment ri...ght now. The book discusses secondary loss. So at the end of something, say like your employment, you also grieve for colleagues, your routine, interactions. There’s also strategies on how to cope. Acceptance, optimism and hope. Having the right people supporting you letting you ‘be’ but also helping you ‘do’ things to move forward. Rituals enable me to honour who I have lost but it also sets me up for the day. Sunrise, exercise, savouring that first coffee all help shape a positive day. Then there’s a chapter about post traumatic growth. How loss can significantly change things yet you do keep moving forward. Step by step, moment by moment. So when we lose something or someone we need to (at some point) continue to forge ahead with the right people and props needed to help us manage/cope/bounce back. Let me know if you would like me to send this to you... it needn’t gather dust on my bookcase!
05.01.2022 Zoom coaching from the get go this morning. With so many people out of work it’s a privilege to support them during these challenging times. I’m helping my clients navigate what seems a long and somewhat daunting road ahead with shortcuts and tips and tricks giving confidence and structure to their activities.... Small steps of progress is still progress.
04.01.2022 The right environment is essential for a productive work space. After working from the kitchen, deck and study - I switched things up to create more natural light. Being on zoom and behind the computer creates a fair amount of screen fatigue so hoping this new set up supports me. Can’t believe I started working from home in March. With things not likely to change anytime soon I may as well settle in! ... Happy Friday See more
04.01.2022 Borrowed this from a friend. So very true. #shufflethedeck
03.01.2022 I am consciously parenting my 9 and 11 year old right now about how they are feeling and ensuring they can express themselves with any particular emotion. As adults we also need to uncover the true feeling being experienced by co-workers or our friends. They should not suppress instead we can encourage discussion and offer support. Conscious Adulting?... Thanks Susan David for this great resource.

01.01.2022 Zoom Fatigue is definitely a thing but so is losing track of time and forgetting lunch! How do you break up your #zoomlyfe ? For me it’s a quick peek at the ocean, planning dinner, making a phone call. ... Anything to be away from the screen for a moment or three!
