24.01.2022 We have just sent a newsletter to our members and friends detailing the committee's decision to draw a line under 2020 screenings and aim (hope?) to be able to screen monthly movies in 2021. 22.01.2022 HI there. While Wednesday nights film is made possible by the Sale Film Society, members of the general public are welcome to attend. We will be asking for a donation however. Not to cover our costs but to show our support to the efforts of the Sale CFA. These guys work hard through the year to keep us safe and will be under a lot of pressure and risk this summer.... So come along and enjoy the movie (for free) but find a fiver or a tenner to put in the bucket when asked. Enjoy the movie. Oh and dont forget the aerogard !!

20.01.2022 Quite a night to kick off 2020! Many thanks to all of you that came along. Big thanks also to the Wedge team who supported us in very difficult circumstances for them. The Australian Dream scored 4.6 out of five, making it one of our most popular films of the last two years. Well be back on March 10 with the French film, Amour.

06.01.2022 Hi there, and for a change we have some good-ish news! We're currently chatting with the guys at The Wedge about dates for 2021. Our hope and aim is to be back inside for regular screenings from February 2021.... This of course depends on COVID-19 restrictions and being able to provide a safe environment. When we have more news we'll get it to you. In the mean time, if you have seen any good movies this year that might fit into our 2021 schedule, let us know

04.01.2022 Hi there film fans. More promising developments suggesting COVID normal isn’t far away. Sale Cinemas open their doors late this week. ... Christopher Nolan’s Tenet is one of the films being screened. Supposedly amazing (if impossible to understand!) Not sure what restrictions will be in place for patrons so check with the movie house.

04.01.2022 Big thanks to all of you who attended last nights screening of Amour. A film with more than a hint of sadness running through it which may have contributed to its 3.8 stars rating. It was certainly thought provoking! ... Our next screening is on Tuesday April 7 and the Icelandic/British co-production Woman at War. 01.01.2022 Hi there to all of you movie lovers! Unfortunately we are no clearer on when we might be able to resume screenings for members. Given we have around 90 members we need restrictions to allow 100 people in a venue like the Wedge for us to proceed. ... We don’t want to be in the position of turning away members who have paid their subs. Once again, if any member would like a refund of their 2020 subscription we will happily process that request. If you’re happy to ‘let it ride’ and we are not able to offer screenings this year, all current memberships will roll over to 2021. Unless, once again you would like a refund. I’m sorry I don’t have better news but we are in the lap of the Corona Virus, so let’s stay safe, healthy and strong until we meet up again.
