13.01.2022 Write up of last weeks games 19th August, 2015 ... The Pink Panthers defeated C.B.I.with eleven tries to two in an interesting contest. With regular interchange of players the Panthers kept the pressure on C.B.I. to limit their try scoring opportunities and despite this Samantha Cass made one try for C.B.I. taking her total tries for the season to four. The other scorer for C.B.I. was eleven year old Cody Voss. Six players scored for the Panthers with Eli Khrapko top scoring with three tries. Mark Chadwick, Adam Lawson, and Adele Merriman each made two tries. Terry Rawhiti and Christiaan Robertson each made one try; these two players have made tries in each game that they have played this season. Best players were Khrapko, Chadwick, Barry McKay, Merriman and Cass. Cody Voss won the encouragement award. Porky’s made ten tries to Grammars threeand yet the Grammar players could have added more tries had they concentrated on playing to their game plan. At half time it was six tries to two with an additional four added to Grammar’s one added in the second half. Bairnsdale player, James Neven, top scored for Porky’s with four tries taking his total for the season to thirteen. Other scorers for Porky’s were Craig Campbell three, Louisa date two and Steve Wright one. Kyung Stewart was Grammar’s top scorer with two tries. Michael Garbett made one. Best players were Wright, Campbell Meade, Campbell, Date and Holly Howes with twelve year old Oli Wilson awarded the encouragement award. The IncrediBulls defeated Touch n Go with six tries while keeping Touch n Go scoreless. Five players scored for the IncrediBulls with Henry Ropeti top scoring with two tries; Jake Farquhar, Marc McLeod, Corey Siebel and Elizabeth Siebel each made one. This was Farquhar’s first game for the season. Best players were Ropeti, Nick Elliott, Tom Craig, Kellie Davis and Elizabeth Siebel with Cortney Simmons winning the encouragement award. In the final game Nagle College defeated Phoenix with thirteen tries to two. Phoenix is team building and should be back in the winner’s circle in a week or so. Kyle Grummisch top scored with six tries taking him to nineteen for the season. Other scorers were Alex Crowe, Oscar Crunden-Smith, and Courtney Edwards each making two tries. The ever-green Bryan Smith made one try, following a long run down the sideline; Smith has made a try in each game that he has played this season. Sam Russ and Michael Duck each made one for Phoenix. Best players were Grummisch, Russ, Crunden-Smith, Edwards and Kate Laskowski. The C.A.T.’s had the bye. On Wednesday night at 6.30 pm second placed Nagle play competition leader Pink Panthers in what should be the game of the round [referee Porky’s] and Grammar plays C.B.I. [referee IncrediBulls]. At 7.20 pm Porky’s play Touch n Go [referee Panthers] and IncrediBulls play C.A.T.’s [referee C.B.I.] Phoenix has the bye.
