08.01.2022 Wreath making began more than a decade ago; foraged elements gathered from the wild, bunches of blooms, seeds, nuts, grasses, foliage and woody branches hung in the shed to dry, trinkets were discovered in crafting hoards. At first, I made and sold wreaths for my store, an interior design and homewares hub in Beechworth. I sold fresh flowers from my store too, allowing me to develop my passion for floristry, a skill passed to me from my dear Mum and bolstered by my lifetime ...of study of the Arts in almost every aspect. Over the years I have played with materials; found, gathered and acquired, I also discovered that many became brittle, some elements falling and reduced to dust. These observations changed the way I conceptualised wreaths. I began to develop a range of wreaths to last, made of faux elements that would withstand time, the dry heat of our environment and even a few wayward basketballs tosses courtesy of teenagers, common to households everywhere! Artwork to be admired for many years, wreaths that could be used to enhance any space in the home. Wreaths that were hardy, wreaths that were truly beautiful, wreaths of floral delight, this became my focus. Over the past few years I have sourced elements to create the floral artistry available to you today. I have honed my skills, I have developed the structural mechanisms and I have ignited an even deeper passion for my creations. All art is an evolution. From inspiration to concept to development and production. This has been the journey of my wreaths thus far. Thankyou to everyone that has purchased a wreath over the past decade, what a joy it’s been creating for you and receiving your support. To say I enjoy making wreaths is an understatement, I absolutely love the process, the challenge of designing each piece and being immersed in the beauty of the elements a visual delight. Some artwork is designed to be momentary, fleeting and temporary. I believe in the timelessness of art, permanence and longevity, the ability to admire artwork over time. 08.01.2022 The weekend is here! Not a lot of rest for me as we are now really hitting our straps, smack bang in the middle the festival of wreaths! What it does mean though...I have an extra pair of hands to help me pack your beautiful wreaths, yes hubby will be at the kitchen bench folding boxes, taping boxes, carting boxes.
