16.01.2022 Another exciting and different project for us this week. One of our repeat customers brought us his light weight Lemond bicycle frame for refurbishment. Lemond Racing Cycles was a bicycle manufacturer founded by Greg Lemond, an American winner of Tour De France and the Road Race World Championship. It was important that we got this beauty exactly right and bring it back to its original condition. Our experienced guys stripped the frame and it was then sent for sandblasting. I...t then received a fresh new coat of clear over base black paint. The bike frame was then sent out for a fresh new lot of Lemond stickers - shout out to Sean at Colourcraft on Andrew Ave Tarrgindi for a brilliant job. Sean then returned it to us for a shiny new clear coat over the stickers. 09.01.2022 On the 22/23rd June at Qld Raceway Ipswich as part of the headline event 2 Days Of Thunder the Production Ute Racing Qld class had round 2 of its championship 2019. The new production ute class had its first full stand alone grid with a solid turn out of utes for the 2 days of racing at Ipswich. The Salisbury Collision Centre / Lion Battery entry looked a million bucks on track. The racing was very close with less than 2 seconds separating the field from first to last plac...e after qualifying. The AU XR6 put up a good show but did suffer with understeer over weekend, but still had some great battles with the commodores over the weekend and getting a solid result and good bag of points for the championship. Next round is September at Qld Raceway so plenty of time to fine tune the ute for the next battle ! Thanks to Salisbury Collision and all the staff for all the help with turning out the ute in such a professional manner all season . 04.01.2022 This week at Salisbury Collision Centre we took in a brand new Ford Ranger in Black Mica fitted with the original tub. We removed the tub and fitted a new alloy canopy. We treated the canopy with a chromate etch primer which guarantees great adhesion. The canopy was then baked in our oven at 70 degrees for one hour and then with a light sand we started with the water base coat in Baslac 45 line. We finished it off with a coat of high solid 2pac clearcoat. The gloss level of t...he Baslac 40-40 clearcoat just speaks for itself. We also colour coded the grille and mirror covers to give this rig a nice sleek look. Finally we finished this job with an awesome ceramic coat of Always Dry 9H LDC PRO and this just made it pop with shine. And a big thank you to Timothy our 3rd year painter that has completed this amazing job. David Wood came to us looking for someone to paint his latest pr...oject taking a Suzuki GSXR1100 and doing a full custom job including fitting a Hyabusa rear wheel. As you can see in the pictures this machine turned out wild and it sounds just as good!
