24.01.2022 Public service announcement and favour request: ABC Classic's top 100 countdown theme is 'The Composers You Can't Live Without'. It would mean the world to me if you might consider placing a vote next to my name, and include some other Australian, living composers. ... I know so many wonderful composers whose work deserves to be heard (and if I can be so bold, I would love my work to be heard more too). Receiving a place in the countdown helps to legitimise our contribution to the living artform that is 'classical music' - you can do your part to increase a composer's voice and reach by voting for them. Thank you!!!!!!!!! https://www.abc.net.au/classic/classic-100/composer/
18.01.2022 Check out Petersham Public School's fantastic artwork for 'Da Vinci's Apprentice'!!! Very impressed! I had the pleasure of working with a great team of creatives to bring this brand new Musica Viva In Schools show to life!! My score is written for historic instruments Viola da gamba, Theorbo, Cornetto and vocalist. It's an hour-long show touring around Australia, coming to a school near you soon!
16.01.2022 Why not download one of my albums to have some nice music during this difficult situation we're all facing?
15.01.2022 Shooting videos for Kawai :)
15.01.2022 I have been invited to attend a wonderful rehearsal of the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra side by side with the best young musicians from the region's youth orchestras. Pictures at an Exhibition and a Haydn piano concerto are being prepared - magnificent playing with a great conductor from the USA at the podium. Great experience to listen to the rehearsal.
13.01.2022 Sharing with you all a little video snippet of Louise Page OAM and myself performing at Adelaide Fringe Festival 2018. Here's our version of "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" - enjoy! https://youtu.be/ZJW3gBXGT_I Under The Microscope
13.01.2022 It's time Australian audiences finally got their 'big girl' pants on and started to embrace and actually enjoy 'modern' classical music. A distinguished international violinist visiting this country performing with the Australian Chamber Orchestra introduced a Schnittke encore with an appallingly apologetic turn of phrase: "...but don't worry, it's very friendly - it's written in the old style..." - as if this helps audiences breathe a sigh of relief that their ears are not ...going to bleed!!! (and to everyone's apparent astonishment, the piece was outstanding!) At the pre-concert talk, the speaker spent 40 minutes describing in explicable detail and with such passion and seriousness of Beethoven's music, then 5 minutes on Prokofiev.... then literally ONE SENTENCE about the new work specially written by a living composer for the visiting international virtuoso violinist. Absolutely despicable. We should be speaking longer about the new work - because it's not been heard before.... Our Audience's and Programmer's values are in completely the wrong place! Why put all your faith in only a very small minority of well-and-truly dead composers when there are living artists in the here-and-now who are writing music FOR YOU. FOR THEIR COUNTRY. FOR OUR WORLD. FOR ALL HUMANITY. Think about this and start growing up!

08.01.2022 I have found a new printing / publishing house to print my collection of piano works - in Germany! It will be available soon (before the end of the year or early in the new year). Who would like some piano music?
05.01.2022 Really humbled and thrilled to be a finalist amongst such wonderful and incredible company! I am speechless and very grateful.
04.01.2022 Lovers of piano music: I've just finished putting together a sample pack of several (10+) piano solo pieces available in my catalogue of works - please let me know your email address (message me) so I can send you a copy if you're interested. Styles range from cinematic/film-esque, works inspired by J. S. Bach's inventions, ragtime, minimalism, Spain, and much more. Ranging from grade 2 (late beginner, early intermediate) through to grades 6/7/8+.

01.01.2022 I'm currently in Vienna, home to some of the world's most incredible composers (past and present). Meanwhile back in Australia, ABC Classic radio is counting down the 'top 100 composers you cannot live without'. I honestly thought that this particular countdown would finally provide an even playing field for Australian and living composers. Boy, was I wrong. The voting public of Australian classical music lovers let their own country's composers down. Extremely disappointed at the lack of respect for our own classical music heritage. There are living composers who deserve your attention and for you to engage! Wake up Australia.
