16.01.2022 Despite all the planning, one thing about a Melbourne wedding is the weather can be unpredictable. And whilst I currently observe a months worth of rain falling, I feel like it's the perfect day to chat wet weather plans. So here are my tips to avoid a 'run for cover moment!' When you are first selecting a venue, be sure to discuss what your alternate ceremony location options are. Do you or the venue make the call to stick with your first option or move the ceremony loc...ation? What timeline are you required to make a decision on to allow the venue to change the ceremony location? How wet is too wet? Will the location handle rain in the days leading up to the ceremony or will it become water logged? If it is going to be wet, will it also be cold? Consider hiring portable heaters if your ceremony converts to an outdoor celebration. Discuss with your celebrant if their PA system can be used in inclement weather. Be prepared if rain should arrive. This might mean pre purchasing umbrellas for the bridal party and adding a trained petticoat to avoid damaging the underside of your dress. Embrace the romance of a photo shoot in the rain. If you're not afraid to get wet-this will be the most memorable part of your day. All these considerations in the lead up to and not on the day might just help ease the stress of auctioning your backup plan. Did you know its designer, Norman Hartnell, created both the Queen's wedding and coronation dresses and also Princess Margaret's wedding gown. Feauturing organza sleeves-yep, on trend, the vintage gown was originally made from Peau De Soie taffeta in shades of ivory, trimmed with ivory Duchess satin.... But let's not forget the details, not only is it encrusted with diamante details and beads, it features a geometric bodice. Utilising the expertise of the Queen's dresser Angela Kelly and dressmaker Stewart Parvin, the palace revealed that the dress was remodelled and fitted for HRH, Princess Beatrice. Let's be honest, her Granny oozes cool!

13.01.2022 Here's the current state of play in Victoria as taken from the Department of Health and Human Services website; Can I attend a wedding? 20 people can attend a wedding in addition to the couple and the celebrant. Children are counted in the person limit.... If a wedding is held in a home, the restrictions on private gatherings apply. This means that a maximum of five visitors are allowed in the private residence in addition to the members of the household. The celebrant, who is required for the service, is not included in the limit. If a wedding is held in a restaurant or pub, 20 guests can attend the wedding, plus the celebrant and the couple. However, a wedding reception at a restaurant or café would be subject to the group limit of 10 as well as the other requirements in place for restaurants and cafes. Places of worship can also be used for a funeral or wedding service.In these instances the restrictions for weddings and funerals apply. A recreational facility, such as a community hall, can be used for a wedding or funeral. Wedding ceremonies held at a community hall can have up to 20 people in attendance, in addition to the couple and the celebrant. The venue must apply the one person per four-square metres rule. -->Wedding receptions may have up to 10 people, in line with public gathering limits. With localised lockdowns currently in place for parts of the Melbourne area, couples and guests should adhere to restrictions that may impact their ability to partake in or attend a ceremony. With family viewing virtually in both China and Ireland, we made the most of the available technology and threw everything at an interactive ceremony. ... From warming the rings through screen and hands, to readings and blessing from afar, this ceremony was the epitome of connection.
