24.01.2022 Where the Flannel Flowers Grow oil on canvas 760x101cm During covid I have been exploring the Tomaree National Park and extending the time I spend painting en plein air within this beautiful area. On one such walk I came to a secluded glade amongst the angophora and paperbark to see the first of the Flannel Flowers blooming. I did some quick studies so as not to forget the moment and returned home to capture it in oil. As an artist I hope to make others more aware of the importance of not harming our natural environment or depleting its resources so as to enable long term ecological balance.
