21.01.2022 Do you have Diabetes? It’s time to Stand Up For Your Health! Having diabetes may increase your risk of developing diabetes related-complications that include ne...rve damage called ‘peripheral neuropathy’ or poor circulation in your feet called ‘peripheral vascular disease’. Nerve damage may affect how you feel pressure or pain and may lead to numbness in your toes or feet. Changes to your circulation may delay your ability to heal any cuts or sores. This may also increase your risk of developing ulcers that may even lead to amputations. #FHW19 #foothealthau #standupforyourhealth #podiatryaustralia #foothealth

13.01.2022 AHPA has just received the following advice from Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt that in light of some states shutting down ‘non-essential services’, ALL alli...ed health businesses nationally can continue working and are encouraged to do so. The Minister has also indicated that the Department of Health is now developing full allied health telehealth options, along with other health and medical services, within the week. This will be part of a staged plan and he encourages providers to continue vital face-to-face services where possible. AHPA is currently liaising with the Department of Health regarding this development and will be meeting with the Department shortly to discuss details for allied health items. #APodA #podiatryau #covid19 #membersupport #australianpodiatry #australia #health #healthpractitioner #podiatry #virus #coronavirus #assistance #resources

12.01.2022 Podiatry is still considered an Essential Service As of Today, Monday March 23, the APodA can confirm that Australian podiatrists are not required to stop pract...icing as a part of the services shut down announced by the government overnight. The ApodA in line with the AHPPC recognises the importance of a nationally consistent approach to measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19, and we encourage podiatrists to consider how they will manage their practice in line with this in the days ahead. We will be providing further updates throughout the day as information comes to hand as well as more resources to support podiatrists. #APodA #podiatryau #covid19 #membersupport #australianpodiatry #australia #health #healthpractitioner #podiatry #coronavirus #assistance #resources

03.01.2022 Tradies Did You Know Incorrectly fitting boots can lead to a number of foot conditions that can put your work on halt. Corns, blisters, bunions and plantar fas...ciitis are just some of the conditions that incorrectly fitting work boots can cause. If you are experiencing any foot pain while wearing your work boots, a podiatrist can help you determine if your boots are the cause, what to look for in a work boot, and can treat your feet so that you’re back up that ladder in no time! #FHW19 #foothealthau #standupforyourhealth #podiatryaustralia #foothealth
