22.01.2022 Yes, there may be a subtle pun there for our discerning audience but it doesn't change the fact that wicker and rattan furniture is rising in popularity. They are the next feature on our 2020 trends series. And as you are probably aware, the actual material that the wicker weave is made of is a flexible, fibrous plant.... With a natural and neutral aesthetic these pieces are incredibly versatile. A great and popular way to bring the natural into your space. https://www.sallyschumacherdesigns.com/ #sallyschumacherdesigns #inspiringinteriors

15.01.2022 We are starting with a series on 2020 interior design trends! Each week we will post and discuss one of the interesting and sometime weird trends that capture the interior design world. This week we are starting with the colour of the year! Pantone has chosen this beautiful Classic Blue as its hello to the new decade. ... It was a fantastic choice as it is supposed to 'bring a sense of peace and tranquillity to the human spirit, offering refuge' to our minds. Blues are calming colours and this is a steady shade is supposed to aid in clarity and concentration of mind and recenter our thoughts. Quite appropriate for the chaotic and turbulent environment we are currently in. What have you seen popping up in stores with this gorgeous blue? Have you bought anything in it? Comment below. :) #sallyschumacherdesigns

15.01.2022 Welcome to part 2 of our 2020 trends series! Today we are looking at curvy shapes. This iconic trend is a direct throwback that has been inspired by the 60s and 70s but with a modern twist. ... This softer look offers warmth and embraces a relaxed feeling while the curved lines draws you into its periphery in a welcoming manner. This trend is fun and makes it easy to dress a space up or down, and fill it in a unique way through the curvy chairs, lamps, tables and many other pieces of furniture. #inspiringinteriors #sallyschumacherdesigns

04.01.2022 What is it that makes a house your home? For some, it’s that combination of old and new which beautifully integrate and sit together. The popular Hamptons style is one which draws on American East Coast style homes, with casual yet elegant combinations of décor and furnishings. ... I have worked with clients to transform a space, making it bright with light and these elegant Hamptons colours. So, what exactly goes into a Hamptons style? White and blue shades are used, and sometimes crisp white is the overall theme. Existing classic and casual pieces are interwoven in the overall Hamptons design giving homes an elegant livability. Windows are covered with wooden shutters and flowing soft curtains which are the go-to for the Hamptons style, which brings completion to your beautiful home. At Sally Schumacher Designs, we design and supply these beautiful window furnishings. Want to transform your space into an elegant Hamptons style? We are only too delighted to help. 02.01.2022 Window dressings are key to completing a room and are sometimes underplayed. As well as looking beautiful they are extremely practical. One of my favourite ways to dress a window is with sheer curtains and love the light that comes through the linen texture. ... What's a look you love? <3 #sallyschumacherdesigns #inspiringinteriors

02.01.2022 The word for this week’s trend is 'multifunctional'. Whether it be spaces inside your home and office or window treatments in those spaces. With many households now needing to work remotely or learn from home, do the occasional workout, and have extra play space for kids, multifunctional spaces have become one of the largest interior design trends 2020 has seen.... Some of the most common multifunctional areas are the kitchen, dining, living room, with open plan designs of the homes. These spaces may include kitchen islands, breakfast or study nooks, and play spaces for kids (sometimes regardless of the size of the floor plan). This trend of multifunction extends to the choice of window treatments as they also have multifunctional qualities. When we want to enjoy the outdoor aspect through our windows without the glare of the sun, the right window furnishing can do that. Or the right product on the windows overlooking the street can give privacy and yet we can still see out. We can work and give presentations in a boardroom with the right light adjustment from blinds instead of the sun we love so much being too much! Another multifunctional aspect is to have curtains and blinds in the same area. Simple roller blinds on a kitchen window above the sink or benchtop which can be pulled up out of the way when required is a great solution and space saver. These can be complemented by beautiful sheer curtains over sliding doors in the same space, which give the interior a stunning feel with infused light, providing temperature control functionality. If you are interested in these beautiful and popular trends check out our website where we supply curtains, blinds and shutters. https://www.sallyschumacherdesigns.com/ We can help you achieve your dream multifunctional space.
