20.01.2022 Playing catchup and sharing pics of a few dishes from last year. This was our Boxing Day feast. Turkey stuffed with both sausage mince and the traditional bread and herbs, ham, home made potato salad, a garden salad, prawns and pacific oysters natural and kilpatrick. I was also fortunate to be served up lobster mornay at my Aunts’ on Christmas Eve and a tradition baked dinner on Christmas Day.
17.01.2022 Pizzicotti fresh from the oven for the Jindabyne Markets on Saturday, 2nd January from 10.00am to 2.00pm in the Memorial Hall. These almond and citrus biscuits are gluten free, vegan and delicious! #sallyscooking #jindabynemarkets #jindabyne #lakejindabyne #100thingstodoinjindabyne #visitjindabyne #snowymountains #snowymountainsnsw #lovejindy #jindy #jindyguide #pizzicotti
15.01.2022 I love frittatas. I often make them to clean out the veggie crisper. This one is based on a recipe my Mum had back in the 80s and the first recipe we had for this dish. Traditionally it’s cooked on the stovetop in a fry pan and finished under the grill, but I find it easier to toss it in the oven. I usually use bacon, but this used up a packet of defrosted leftover Christmas ham. It’s loaded with zucchini, onion, mushrooms, red capsicum and shallots. It’s fantastic with a salad and is also good at room temperature for picnics or in a lunchbox. This is also a tasty dish for a vegetarian without the meat.
12.01.2022 For those like myself who prefer something g salty over something sweet, these salt, pepper, Parmesan and garlic toasties are sure to satisfy a savoury craving. Great to snack on, dunk in a dip or use as croutons in a soup or on a Caesar salad. Available at the Jindabyne Markets, Saturday, 2nd January in the Memorial Hall from 10.00am to 2.00pm. #sallyscooking #jindabynemarkets #jindabyne #lakejindabyne #100thingstodoinjindabyne #visitjindabyne #snowymountains #snowymountainsnsw
