19.01.2022 Close to four seasons in one day for today's annual Tamar Valley Cycle Challenge! Sally’s Ride started in 2002, when Sally Fletcher rode solo around Tasmania to raise funds for mental health in Tasmania. 18 years on it's evolved to become the Tamar Valley Cycle Challenge and we're so proud to be part of it with funds raised this year going to JCP Empowering Youth program, 'The BEAST', which targets at-risk youth. A huge thank you to everyone who signed up to support the event, the riders that braved the weather conditions, Rotary Club of Central Launceston for organising and our special volunteers.

11.01.2022 10KM FAMILY RIDE - Have Fun with the Whole Family! The St Lukes Family Ride has been a firm favourite for our community for some years now. It encourages parents, family and friends to get out and do some cycling together. It is mainly off road using Launceston's famous levy banks and Heritage Forest. This is a guided ride led by TBUG (Tas Bike Users Group) and supported by the SES at the main road crossings in Invermay. Safety, fun, exercise and participation are the key elements of success for this ride. There may even be some treats for the children (and the adults) at the Heritage Forest halfway point - just to keep your energy levels up! Register before the event at https://www.sallysride.com.au/ #familyfun #cycling

03.01.2022 Rotary Club of Central Launceston and Sallys Ride : Tamar Valley Cycle Challenge have joined forces to give all children in Launceston the opportunity to learn... to ride and make cycling a regular daily activity Kids now spend too much time inside, on "screens", with 1 in 4 either overweight or obese, instead of spending time outside exercising, having fun & exploring their neighbourhood. Most Launceston residents dont cycle as a means of everyday transport, yet everything tells us we all should! They intend to provide free and accessible learning to ride bike activities in all Launceston suburbs, particularly targeting 3 to 6-year-olds mainly to ride a balance bike and then to learn to pedal and ride a bike by themselves. If youd like to vote for this project and view other projects that can help us make Launceston a great regional city, click here https://bit.ly/39C9IjU.
