25.01.2022 In my 20 years in this business and in the age of Trip Advisor and the Google Review this feedback from a new customer, Ian was both refreshing and heartwarming in equal measure. Lyall is the waitress that this praise refers to but she was ably supported by chefs Liam & Bibek on the night. Guys take a bow! To quote Lyall "Who needs tips when you get feedback like this" Thank you to our brilliant team who make our Crows Nest store a great addition to the neighbourhood. ... Here is the text in full: Praise! 4/10/20 To the owner of Salmon & Bear I love good customer service and when our booking was taken last Wednesday for 3 people at 6:30pm, over the phone, by a very cheery person who rang back after getting our message, I had a good feeling about the place. The same waitress did an excellent "meet and greet" when we arrived and I observed how well she coped as the restaurant filled up - singled handed! "Friendly and efficient" is how I would sum up her performance. It was our first visit and she explained all the dish choices very well. We were very impressed with our entrees and main courses. (1 x Fish Pie, 1 x Steak 1 x Fish Stew) and will return. Please congratulate the hard working waitress on our behalf. 13.01.2022 I'm originally from the UK and I spent many happy years of my hospo life working in some great establishments where I learnt my trade. Right now what is happening in the UK due to Covid-19 only serves to show how lucky we really are in Australia. In my opinion the hospitality industry back home has been treated really poorly by the UK government, with many amazing restaurants not knowing what they can do from one day to the next, with policy changes happening almost weekly wi...th little to no notice. I dont know how everyone keeps finding the energy, nevermind the money to keep going. This post is a shout out to all those doing it tough right now.
