17.01.2022 UPDATED G6 TURBO BASICS Ok, these motors are pretty damn strong, the only real weak link is the heads. They arent made of the greatest of alloy on the older models and as a result they can distort from excessive heat and obviously boost pressure. An aftermarket head gasket and some of my head studs can solve this, although its not a major issue if you keep the boost at a respectable level and fuel it to suit. As for the rest of the mods needed, they can be turbocharged with... only basic modifications to MAF sensor and fueling, both very simple to do and safe in regards to reliability. Always be aware of your cooling systems efficiency! Addition parts required are; Air filter, Intercooler, Rising rate fuel pressure regulator set to at least 55psi, extension of the MAF sensor harness ( very simple to do, just use 5 core trailer wire and solder in the extention), colder spark plugs and if you want run more than 7psi of boost i recommend installing a bosch 070 (or equivalent) fuel pump inline to boost fuel flow, i have run up to 12psi with this reliably with base fuel pressure set to 70psi. I also recommend at least a 2.5" exhaust system, 3" if you can. *YOU MUST USE 98 OCTANE FUEL TO PREVENT PINGING* Apart from this the next step is an aftermarket ecu, i am going to be trialing a Plug and Play ecu and will keep you all updated on the results. 04.01.2022 Guys and Gals with boosted G6 engines I now have MLS gaskets to compliment the 12mm chromoly head studs! We all know that the stock gaskets are prone to letting go at the sign of a fart, and 85Nm from the stock bolts are about as good as a wet one These gaskets will hold up to all the abuse and the studs allow a massive 135.5Nm of clamping force!... Initial price for the MLS gaskets are $650+ postage and $400+ postage for a set of studs, nuts and washers. Considering how weak the factory items are its a small price to pay for the confidence in knowing its not going anywhere. As a new product offer, if you order a kit containing MLS gasket + head studs before the end of the year I will do them for $1000 shipped Aus wide.

01.01.2022 Heres a little custom G6 oil and water line kit and turbo manifold I finished and sent off to NZ for Jacob Johnson last week. Teflon braided line with stainless fittings. 3/4" oil drain line, with what i think is an awesome yet incredibly simple solution for installing a sump drain. Its a 45 3/4" bulkhead fitting that doesnt require welding and if done correctly, can be done without removing the sump.... The kit also comes with Gates water lines and banjo fittings, and brass 5/16" to 3/8" union joiners in the end to connect to the factory coolant line that goes to the manifold. Ive also included turbo gaskets and studs to make the installation a little bit easier. Kit cost $800 + postage Let me know what you think!
