23.01.2022 Building something great I recently came across a quote Michael Gerber said from the Emyth he was talking about how the best businesses in the world are obsessed and the best business owners are obsessed Have you’ve ever felt like you care about certain things more than other people do?... This reminded me of my recent visit to an Aesop store. They sell Cosmetics, fragrances and personal hygiene products. Aesop is a great example of the best business owners are obsessed I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Denis who started Aesop - a true inspiration. Aesop started as a shop in Melbourne and now are a world known brand. I wanted to share with you a couple of rituals they do which I absolutely Love!. One, I walked in and a staff member poured me a cup of their special tea. wow. I chose my products, I gave her my credit card, she charges it. She passes me the credit card back with two hands, like it’s special, not just a card. And says Thank You And then when she is ready to hand over my stuff they put it in a fabric bag then they come around the counter, and they present it to you again with 2 hands. They don’t pass it to you over the counter, they make a point every single time of walking around the counter and passing you this thing with two hands and saying, Thank you. I really love businesses that do stuff with quality. ...How about coffee shops noticed how many coffee shops are obsessed with roasts, blends, regions and more... And How about how they serve the coffee and coffee art that comes with it? So, the point I’m making here is I want to talk to you today about building something great! What idea do you have to run something as humble as a coffee shop or a hair business with that kind of class & value and build something that’s really extraordinary? We’ve got an incredible opportunity with technology and simple service ideas to build an extraordinary hair business.
