03.01.2022 If you have already closed your business, I applaud you for taking the steps you feel necessary to protect yourself and your community If you have not yet close...d, I encourage you to continue trading for as long as possible if you have the means to do so, however extra care is necessary for the health and well being of our entire society How are you practising social distancing and extra hygiene protocols in your salon? Here's a few measures you can take to make your salon safer while trading - Space all clients out in every second chair and basin where possible - Utilise colour processing tables to prevent over crowding at stations - Request all guests and staff wash their hands on arrival as well as before and after contact with another person - Request digital payments to reduce cash handling - Sanitise Eftpos machines, phones, computer keyboards & mouse, bench tops every half hour - Where possible if the weather permits, keep the salon doors open - Cleanse all bathroom tap-ware and door handles regularly - Provide paper towels (challenging I know) instead of reusable towels (request clients byo hand towel if possible) - Remove all magazines & reading materials - Serve beverages in disposable paper cups, or cease serving beverages all together - Ensure all capes and towels are washed after client contact - Sanitise all equipment regularly. - Wash all clients hair in salon, wear gloves when performing all colour services Times are tough, and if you are experiencing high volumes of cancellations and less clients in salon, you may need to consider staggering staff hours to stay financially viable for the time being.
