16.01.2022 PLEASE, DONT DO THIS. I want to know, has anyone EVER handed their client slices of cucumber during treatment and asked them to place it on their eyes? Or have you EVER included in a home-care prescription, for the client to use slices of cucumber at home on the skin?... I am seeing a little too much of this on social media at the moment. Most alarmingly in industry groups from people who are supposed to specialise in the Aesthetic industry. If my skin therapist or doctor ever handed me a slice of cucumber to put on my eyes, I would never go back to the clinic and, I would lose all confidence in the business plus, any respect I had for the brand. ---------- SMC TIPS: 1. BE MINDFUL of the stock photos you chose for your marketing and the message it sends about your brand to clients and more importantly, potential new clients. 2. Ask yourself when selecting stock photos, does this image send the right message to my target market? Does the photo respect the integrity of the treatments/products/training? Ultimately, is this image a good representation of our philosophy and the problems we can fix for our ideal client? If it features a slice of cucumber, the answer is NO. Say NO to cucumbers, please flamingoes. Cucumbers are VERY pigeon.

02.01.2022 Virtual Services are still very much a thing, even though COVID restrictions have been eased. Face to face services can and, have recommenced for many industries including the beauty industry, however, there are still plenty of people who actually prefer virtual. Like me when it comes to group fitness training. Here I am this morning zooming in from the Sunshine Coast to work out with a group of girls who were training from the park in Maroubra. I love being ...a member of She Camp and I especially appreciate Susie decided to make her business hybrid and offer both face-to-face and virtual group training options. This decision smart thing because guess what? She didn’t lose any Zoom clients when we reopened after lockdown and went back to in person sessions. Guess what that means? The business has grown exponentially. I’d love to know how many salon owners out there started to offer virtual skin consultations due to COVID, set up online stores and, continue to work hard to grow these new areas of the business? Or did you just let it all drop away once you reopen your clinic?
