23.01.2022 The Cuban Clave is the key instrument in Salsa rhythm... Without clave we don’t have Salsa ... from the Spanish translation Sin Clave no hay Salsa Originally it was Sin Clave no hay Son because el Son is the genre of music and dance originated en Cuba on late of the 19th century and it blends element of Spanish and African origin that gives the origin to Salsa rhythm...... Claves are a percussion instrument that consists in 2 pieces of hard wood that when struck it produces a bright clicking noise. The Claves gives the basic pattern for all the rest of the instrument in a Latin Band. There are 2 type of clave in Salsa; 2-3 and 3-2 and they help you find the right beats for star dancing So now that you know what it is and what it is used for... play a Salsa song and try to recognise the Clave and if you can I want to challenge you to tell us if it is a 3/2 or 2/3 clave... 11.01.2022 ... 8 years ago... Afro-Cuban Dance is certainly my strength and what excite me the most.... If you don’t know, Afro-Cuban dance is an interpretation of Orishas ( Gods)... ... It is a dance with Religion meaning for Afro-Cuban people originated from Yoruba people ( Africa -Nigeria) and today it is still very active in Cuba... Their culture is very interesting and we will soon explaine it a bit better... In this show we have been interpreting Ellegguà, Oggùn and Yemayà... I was dancing with my students our school named Escandalo Latino, I keep in my heart all these memories and I’m glad that today I’m still teaching this style... ... and keep us watching and following us as many new things are coming at Salsa Loca Dance School... Gold Coast...
