24.01.2022 Recent purchase I can't wait to use it #fermentingcrock @stringandsalt

23.01.2022 Finally strained my elderberry fire cider after 9 weeks, added honey and bottled it up. It's so delicious. We now have enough to last us through winter. I bribe my kids to drink it For the recipe, check out my previous posts

19.01.2022 Fire cider! Getting ready for the cold and flu season. Smells amazing I added garlic, ginger, onion, horseradish, lemon, turmeric, thyme, rosemary, oregano, chilli and covered everything with apple cider vinegar. I will let it ferment for about 4-6 weeks, then strain it and add raw honey. Yum... How beautiful are those flowers, freshly picked from a friend's garden. Thanks Heike What's currently brewing on your kitchen counter? See more

17.01.2022 Hello lovely I fermented some red onions with a little bit of chilli this week. I love this ferment, it's so delicious. I'm sorry I have been out of action lately, life has been busy - I have been homeschooling the kids all term (last day of term today, hooray), building a house and work. So I haven't had much spare time to ferment. I made almond kefir a few weeks ago, popped it in the cupboard and forgot all about it - thankfully I was able to revive the grains. I have...n't made Kombucha in over 6 months (my relationship with Kombucha is very complicated). We are due to move to our new home in about 6 weeks so I will start fermenting a bit more once we are settled and the kids are back at school. Hopefully by then, I will be able to start my workshops again. I miss them so much, and connecting with people. I hope you and your families are healthy and safe during these uncertain times See more

14.01.2022 I'm finally back in my fermenting kitchen, and it feels good to be fermenting again. I made this fermented salsa yesterday and should be ready in a few days. If you haven't made it yet, check out the recipe on my blog. Link in bio What's fermenting in your kitchen?
