24.01.2022 What a Tuesday! These sunny Spring days have us very excited for more beautiful weather to come! Like lots of you, we've been using this COVID year to make more of an effort to get out and see what's close to us. With restrictions easing for regional Vic, we thought we'd share a few of our favourite spots for a walk so you can get out and enjoy the sunshine, too! Screw Creek/Bluff Walk - we never get tired of this little bush loop, and we know it's a popular one with ...lots of you, too. Meander along the dog beach, take in the inlet in all its glory, and catch some early morning mist on the creek. Magic! Cape Woolamai Coastal Walk - the highest point on the Island offers a panoramic view that is tough to beat! We've loved this walk more every time, and even been lucky enough to spot some dolphins. Maybe don't tackle this on a windy day, though... Sealers Cove - Sal & I tackled this one as pre-Summer shop training last year, and gosh, was it an absolute cracker! Bush, mountains and ocean, there's a little bit of everything in this one. Pack lunch & picnic in the sun - you won't want to leave! Where have you been exploring? Have we missed your favourite? 21.01.2022 Updated Opening Hours It’s been a wild ride these past few months, but we’ve made it back again to a new kind of normal. As such, our hours are changing slightly, and we’re back to 6 days in the shop. Tuesdays are still a ‘day off’ for the time being, but you’ll find us in the shop Wednesday - Monday, and very eager to see you all! ... To our beautiful Melbourne friends, we miss you a lot, and cannot wait til you’re able to visit us and our seaside town again soon. 21.01.2022 Forecast We're in the midst of super busy shop times at the moment - there's a million orders to get in, both for now and next Autumn, there's lovely things to merchandise and an absolute avalanche of new stock arriving nearly every day. The back room is HEAVING! NEW Nude Lucy The Label should drop this week, and my gosh, am I excited!! There's some lovely, earthy pecan tones in there, and a couple of handy midi skirts I can't wait to style. 20.01.2022 We get asked a bunch of questions in the shop, and a lot of the time they’re town related. Public toilet locations, restaurant recommendations, where to buy hardware bits and pieces - we’ve heard a few. And yet, on the weekend, I found myself at a loss. A new friend’s just arrived in Inverloch and she’s eager for the inside word. Rather than passing through on holidays, she’s making a home here, and it really got me thinking about my favourite parts of Inverloch. I take a lo...t of things for granted - snippets of local wisdom, secret spots, the best time to venture to FoodWorks Inverloch on a sweltering January day. What’s your favourite part of town? 17.01.2022 It's been a quiet old first week of lockdown 2.0, and while that's maybe not great news for business, it's a brilliant sign that everyone is doing their best to #stayathome We've adjusted our hours slightly, but rest assured we'll still be in the shop as much as possible! 17.01.2022 We're a bit lost. Or, if you've been looking on Google maps, you'd be forgiven for thinking we were. Our happy little red flag has mysteriously relocated to the end of the street, quite a way from our shop. The lovely Olivia at Ray White Inverloch kindly pointed out the error earlier in the week, and to be honest, perhaps it's an easy mistake to make. Admittedly, I do spend a fair bit of time popping in and out of The Local. Inverloch, so it makes sense for Google to drop u...s in nice and close, and reduce the coffee commute. Unfortunately, it's probably leaving a few customers confused. And frankly, we are too - I've moved that map pin so many times already this year, and the cheeky bugger just keeps travelling around town. Originally, Google had us sitting out the back of Southcoast First National, more or less in The Invy Espy drive-through. Convenient for hot chips, yes, but in terms of accuracy, way off. Now we've popped up at the end of A'Beckett with a couple of stops in between, and I'm wondering where to next. The dog beach? Maybe a brief excursion towards Tomo's Japanese Inverloch? We haven't managed to travel too far in 2020, so I guess we're lucky our little red flag is out there having all sorts of adventures for us...

17.01.2022 We're in for some more warm weather over the weekend, and with restrictions easing slightly, we're hoping a few of you are planning to get out and about. We'd love to see you! 15.01.2022 Community Support Take-Out If you’ve tuned into our stories during 2020, chances are you might’ve glimpsed a post or two featuring some delicious-looking food. Seeing this year has thrown more than a few hurdles at our friends in hospitality, we thought we’d expand our Community Support Take-Out here, and spotlight some of our favourites with a little extended feature every week or so. ... Is this just an excuse for us to eat more? Possibly, yes, but it’s a price we’re (very) happy to pay. First up is The Cape Tavern! We love this place all year round, dine in or takeaway. Warm and friendly, the stellar team here go above and beyond. And we’d wager there’s something to please nearly every hungry eater on their menu. Pub classics, steaming curries, fresh fish, eggplant parm - everything is delicious. Sal’s pick is the Seafood Pie (and the lamb option also gets a massive tick of approval), and I would happily eat nothing but the Gnocchi w Slow Braised Lamb Ragu for the rest of my days. Elastic waists recommended - you’ll savour every forkful!

15.01.2022 Our weekends have been a little quieter in store recently seeing as our Melbourne friends can't come and visit for the time being. We've been using the downtime to start brainstorming a few projects for the shop. Last August we gave our changerooms a facelift, and splashed white paint around to brighten things up. This year we've got a couple of ideas, but we're throwing it open to you, too! We're talking both in terms of shop style & fittings, and also the lovely things ...we're lucky enough to stock. 11.01.2022 Community Support Take-Out We're back with another course of local support, and today we're spotlighting one of our coffee regulars - Vela Nine! Located within very, very easy walking distance of the shop, Marls and the team at Vela are super friendly and always up for a laugh, and they smile so big you can see it behind their masks. They know Sal's double shot skinny latte order off by heart, and I am an absolute sucker for the free little biscuit that usually comes ato...p my coffee We've sampled more than a few food options here, and can heartily recommend the BLAT if you're feeling famished. Although, I think our ultimate favourite would be the falafels - if they're on the menu, it's your lucky day! These guys have just reopened for dine in, and I'm sure they'd love to see more smiling, hungry faces! Or leave the little biscuits and cheesecakes to us, we don't really want to share anyway...

07.01.2022 Win! Last week, we were hungry! Or at least, it must've looked that way. By dinner time on Monday, we'd been treated to: ~ an overflowing doughnut box from Gelato Al Mare - Inverloch (sent by the lovely Sammy at Unzipped Fashion Management for our 10am Zoom meeting),... ~ a couple of slices of bonus cheesecake delivered with our delicious Vela Nine lunch, ~ Anzac biscuits from a very kind neighbour, ~ and then, to cap it off, the lovely folks at Bearded Baker Of Inverloch drew their final free sourdough giveaway and I won - not once, but twice Don't panic - we split & staggered the doughnuts, the cheesecake went home with Sal (for my dessert-loving Dad), and the extra loaf of bread was redirected to another loving home, BUT all that free food did get me thinking how we could pay some kindness forward! Food is not our area, so instead, we're going to send one of our favourite Sea Salt candles home with one lucky person who likes this post! 06.01.2022 A few weeks ago, we had slightly unusual customer pop in for a visit. Small, quiet, and already in possession of a lovely fur coat, this little guy seemed to take a liking to our store. A quick browse of the sale rack, a short sniff at the candles, and a brief visit to the changerooms and Freddy the Koala was on his/her way. Last seen heading up into a leafy gum out the back, we're not too sure when or if this little trendsetter will visit again... ... Sal’s pretty amazing at powering through the steaming, and I’ve been unpacking boxes like it’s a new Olympic sport BUT the jobs list is not getting any smaller, and Sal and I can’t work all that much quicker. To avoid us increasing our daily lattes to triple shots, we’re on the lookout for a lovely good soul to join us and help out as we head into the busy Summer holidays, and beyond! ... We’re looking for a bit of a retail all-rounder, confident in manning the shop, someone who’s always up for a chat, and has a strong eye for detail. While this lovely person will start as a casual, we're very open to expanding the role over time and tailoring it to suit! 01.01.2022 Community Support Take-Out This week we're spotlighting one of our favourite pubs that often fills our rumbling bellies after a long day matching people and clothes in the shop. The Invy Espy have perfected the COVID takeaway system, and we're yet to find a meal choice we haven't enjoyed. I'm a repeat offender for selecting the Gippsland Beef Burger, while Sal is maybe more likely to choose the Fried Chicken Burger option. I also love the Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder on a c...old night, and the Tuna Poke Bowl might be next on the hit list...
