16.01.2022 Darcy had a cracker of a weekend at Salt Creek last weekend. While everyone was moshing it up at the One Night Stand in Lucindale, Darcy was dragging fish up the salty’s sand... Beach is very soft, here and Robe/beach port. I’m getting 3-4 mayday calls a week from here and there due to crew not dropping low enough and getting in the shit... it’s high spring arvo tides so run 10-12psi low range through the soft crap and get through and go enjoy your holiday. Not spend it di...gging and calling for help or even having to replace a new transmission in ya patrol ... costly exercises as I’m not doing the recovering and letting the professionals do it so it will cost you between $1000-$7000+ a call out from them. Take care and be safe. See more

13.01.2022 To those People who wonder why I’ve got fed up with endless $$$ being spent in Meningie and not a single cent spent in salt creek for the public, this is why... Many millions of dollars have gone into their new upgrades in the town. The new Toilets alone - @$700,000 Then millions spent on Main Street upgrades to the Parklands and facilities incl tables ( they ripped out perfectly good ones to put pretty ones in), bbq, shelters, emus , planter boxes full of flowers, bins , si...gnage, sculptures, stone and arty features, lighting and now a $50k dog park. We have well over 100,000 people a year pull into the Salt Creek Roadhouse car park a year looking to take a break, visit the Coorong Nat park, come to my shop or simply stretch their legs and walk their dog. That’s being decimated by all these wonderful facilities going in here and absolutely nothing going in here. Basically stealing all the passersby. Similar infrastructure has gone up in kingston to which is again compounding the effect. Salt Creek - not 1 bin, no toilet, no, signage, no info, no lights, no arty crap (don’t want) no safe glassy areas, no shelters, no bbq area. And we are the 2 hour stop from ADELAIDE or anywhere in the south east. Crap hidden entry’s off the highway and no warning signage hence many near accidents with people trying to get in. Enough enough. Not $1 has been spent on infrastructure in salt creek for over ten years from the council, highways or the state government at any level to serve the public. Just a fortune of money and effort by me and my staff to try help everyone and fill this void. Oh I think they are about to spend $35k on painting the old National parks office here that they abandoned years ago and eventually gave to the local Cfs... nothing here to help you, but we got ya covered once your splattered on the highway Highways department says all lands councils, council says it’s all highways, lands titles says it’s all highways and national parks. So it’s hot potato and gambling with YOUR lives and my business. Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully understand what a frustrating shitfight this is. 11.01.2022 The positive feedback and support from so many of you has blown me away. Honestly I feel so humbled to have this many people get up and say enoughs enough of over zealous government departments ruining rural Australian communities and tourist destinations. Our parks, beaches and wilderness areas are to be there for all to enjoy, camp, fish, explore and most importantly of all is be a part of the environment. If kids can’t get out there and enjoy a campfire, eat a fish they c...aught themselves, learn about the Bush and their country how the hell are they truely going to care about what happens to our great country... Thank you all so much Adam Stewart Salt Creek. https://www.facebook.com/504985625/posts/10160641802525626/

10.01.2022 Edited.. Ok Lucindalers... For those heading to the Triple J One Night Stand today (Saturday)stop in at the Salt Creek a Roadhouse and Grab a snag..! Salt Creek CFS are doing Sausage Sizzle, cold cans and coffee for a $2 donation. Monies raised, like yesterday is going to the Lucindale School Kids to help fund their Canberra camp trip. ... Grab a photo on the Giant Chair Backstop and have some fun. Ok the Triple JJJ Counting The K’sfund raiser for the Lucindale school camp is set up at the Salt Creek Roadhouse today and a sausage sizzle will be set up tomorrow for travellers too.. Seeing DPTI and National Parks SA don’t believe you the public need any facilities at Salt Creek, local legend Josef Strobl and Karin Smith have built a giant chair for you..! Come grab a photo and have a safe trip to The One Night Stand We are still closed as a business due to the neglect of the area and constant push to empty the Coorong National Park of it’s beach visitors and efforts by DPTI make everyone stop at Meningie and kingston at my expense. Sorry Adam

09.01.2022 Simply a reminder that we are temporarily closed until the Coorong National Park here at Salt Creek stops being systematically shut down and one of the states most beautiful tourist destinations becomes user friendly again like it was for the last 50 years. The Salt Creek region needs to start to receive a little bit of TLC from the highways department and council with a bit of basic functional infrastructure. Not a dollar has been spent on your safety in this area in donkey...s years whilst neighbouring towns keep getting million dollar upgrades. Great for them, but a little love needs to be shared here in the middle of nowhere and yet such a critical stop for so many. Thanks for your support and understanding. Adam

08.01.2022 G'day everyone, hoping you can help me with I.D.ing a light fingered, silly old bastard and his probably very embarrassed partner. If they'd like to message me to talk about it, as otherwise it will be a police matter and i'm sure the police have better things to worry about than chasing "Klepto'Pa" for knocking off chunks of steel...! It left a nice ankle breaking hole for anyone not paying attention. Thanks heaps, Salt Creek Adam... Share if you like, Thanks #saltcreek #saltcreekroadhouse #saltcreekadam

08.01.2022 Well not exactly everyone... if you travel the Princes Highway for the 145kms of bugger all between Meningie and Kingston, of which Salt Creek is the 2 hour mark from pretty much anywhere ... you still get nothing. Nowhere to sit in shade, rest, shit, pee, put your rubbish, get saved from hammer wielding mad men....absolutely nothing... 2,000,000 well spent...? I disagree on some ..! It amazes me how much money can be spent on the favourite towns such as Tailem Bend, Meningi...e ect and what quite a few would doubt is really in the criteria. Seriously, sealing roads if necessary is a councils/DPTI’s normal duty, not a use for bonus funding to better the region for the greater good. Looks like thousands will have to keep shitting in the bushes along the Coorong, baking in the sun when they want to take a break or throwing their rubbish anywhere and not to mention waiting 6-10hours plus for assistance when they break down or hit a roo. All something that never was an issue when the Roadhouse picked up all the loose ends. If it’s not councils duty to keep the millions that pass this way and the many who visit safe and the region around Salt Creek neat and tidy, and if it’s not DPTI’s and we all know National Parks don’t want any guests anywhere near this end of the Coorong and won’t lift a finger to actually improve park user satisfaction who’s bloody job is it..? Please enlighten me because it seems no one gives a f-ck about anyone passing through here other than me.. Have a read of this ... https://www.murrayvalleystandard.com.au//something-for-e/ See more

07.01.2022 Great see so many crew getting behind it and help raise money for Lucindale school kids Canberra camp today on their way to the JJJ One night Stand..! #lucindaleonenightstand #countthek’s #shittylittleroadsidestandpullingthegoods

03.01.2022 Hi everyone and hope you’re all healthy and not going covid crazy..! Today marks 2 years since I closed the Salt Creek Roadhouse due to local neglect from council, DPTI and sadly gross mismanagement of the Coorong National Park. WELL...... Some amazing news that will go a long way towards re opening and improving the region.! For those who enjoy camping, fishing and managing your sanity down here on the Coorong’s famous surf beach. ... We may be getting our very popular and safe section of beach returned to us..! After a lot of hard work and consultation, the stakeholders reviewing the marine parks and their sanctuary zones have debated and agreed to reason. The section of beach that was taken away from everyone from just above T tree crossing, and up to the 12km mark, may be re opened to shore based line fishing again..! Beach fishing, the biggest tourism attraction in the region was the only thing impacted by this sanctuary zone as it’s 145kms each way to any boat ramp..! This will return so many massive benefits to not only those visiting and fishing along the whole beach but also to the beach and dune environment before the closed zone and of course public safety. The cramping and overload of use on the area before the zone was impacting heavily on the environment and people’s enjoyment was greatly diminished as many were forced to squeeze in and try camp and fish in areas either not suitable or dangerous or be forced to drive 10-20 kms further up the beach to find a spot. A family throwing a bait 40 meters from the shore on what is one of the wildest surf and sand beach’s in Australia is not and was not identified as a threat to this habitat. This beach is so extreme that it’s sand levels can rise and fall upto several meters in one day. A great win for commonsense, the environment, tourism, public safety and what I hope is a continuing effort to turn around the negative effects of Park miss management inherited from the previous state government. A massive thanks from me and all those who’ve been negatively impacted over the last 10 years to all involved, MRFAC reps, especially Graham Keegan, local member Nick McBride and the Environment Minister @David Speirs for their time and considerations. Please open the link below and give your support behind this particular sanctuary zone amendment ASAP as the cut off is 5pm this Friday the 10th of July. Please Share to your fishing and Coorong loving buddies..! https://www.environment.sa.gov.au//upper-south-east-marine

03.01.2022 So after ten years of living the Salt Creek Roadhouse life and not fishing, I thought I better try earn my stripes back... I’d taken some friends over lately and low and behold helped them all get a few good mulloway but still couldn’t get one on the board for myself. So I hit the beach with a couple of my besties on a blowing it’s arse off day just prior to New Years and with the ocean looking more like a washing machine than a prospective fish shop, found the three of us hi...ding behind our 4bys on the waterline. My mate again started shaming me with a few soapies and a ray, then having a bronzie knock off his hook in the shorebreak to earn its freedom while I was still on a doughnut.... then.... five mins later hooked a snack pack bronzie which i then pulled said mates hook out of its throat as well and then lucked into these three nice mullys... A quick hand over to Jules and she had her first mully on the beach ten mins later ...! My stripes are coming back..! See more

01.01.2022 I love it when we get lovely letters of support like this slipped under the door at the Salt Creek Roadhouse. It’s amazing how local departments manage to NOT achieve the simplest of responsibilities...! Lucky for me Salt Creek is probably one of the nicest areas in the country to be isolated in. Been 12 years of isolation..... Stay safe from the coudis everyone... See more
