23.01.2022 Winter Magic One their way to @onelittlesisternormanville

22.01.2022 Before Winter I was really worried we wouldn’t be able to keep up with flower orders. As each season has arrived I haven’t really known what to expect but wow Winter in Australia is incredibly beautiful. Thanks @sharynjonhston63 for the epic foraging finds too It’s a bit windy today so there are a couple of bunches on the stand and a few more sheltered out the back. If your coming past send me a msg and I’ll make sure there is something out on the stand for you. @ Middleton Beach

21.01.2022 Winter blooms These beauties went to @onelittlesisternormanville

20.01.2022 The youngsters may not even know it, but any older person remembers very well that up to about 20 years ago any car trip meant a windshield covered in insects c...rushed by impact. Today, that doesn't happen the same way anymore. It may look great to travel with a clean windshield. But doesn't that tell you anything? Where did the bugs go anyway? Scientists associate the dramatic decline of insect populations with agribusiness due to the destruction of natural habitats and pesticide application. The decline of insects, besides being a tragedy in itself, affects all earthly ecosystems, such as the diet of birds, reptiles and amphibians, and pollination of plants, etc. The collapse of insect populations may be the foreshadowing of earthly ecosystems collapse.

20.01.2022 Our little Middleton based flower farm stall will be open with fresh seasonal spring blooms every Friday and Saturday. All of our ranunculus are starting to flower, we planted about 300 bulbs at the start of winter and they now look stunning. If you are after a bunch of blooms this week they will be full of Ranunculus, Blue Bel’s and Freesias.... Spring has definitely sprung in our little patch and the signs of new Roses, Sweet Peas and Love in a Mist won’t be too far behind.

19.01.2022 Paper Daisy Love

18.01.2022 Late Winter bunches filled with beautiful Anemones

17.01.2022 Wild Winter flowers. This whole gardening thing is pretty awesome, It can’t be rushed or force yet it seems to force me to slow down and admire the fleeting stillness that every season holds. Releasing control and surrendering, knowing that nearly every seed we plant will grow into something utterly beautiful.

17.01.2022 I’ve just topped the stall up with lots of stunning blooms

17.01.2022 Happy Friday. Our little road side stall is all stocked up. The first beautiful bunch is off to @onelittlesisternormanville Happy to put one of these aside if you want a particular bunch let me know

16.01.2022 Some of the posies on the stand today. I think these are the last of the Freesias and together with the Mint, Ranunculus and Sweet Peas these posies smell like Spring in jar.

16.01.2022 Do you suppose she’s a wildflower? - Alice In Wonderland

15.01.2022 We’ve got a busy day planned tomorrow making lots of orders up for Christmas Day. If you are after a bunch please feel free to msg an order though for pick up from our little road side stall in Middleton tomorrow.

15.01.2022 Planted so many seeds this arvo, have been reading an awesome book about straw bale planting. (Now have plans to get so many more bales of pea straw). We’re using these as a mini green house with glass widows over the top to keep the seed/ seedlings a bit warmer and protect them from the morning frosts. Fingers crossed it will work @ Middleton, South Australia

13.01.2022 This wind and rain has been great for some of our blooms and terrible for others - today we harvested bundles of Paper Daisys which had blown over in the wind for drying ready to be added into posies over the next few months. Paper Daisys also known as Everlasting Daisys once dried hold their colour for a really long time they are such a wonderful bloom. And over the last few days our Rose bushes have started flowering again so from this week our bunches on the stand will h...ave Roses and more of what I think may be my new favourite flowers Ranunculus - gosh they are a beautiful bloom with a long life as a cut flower. * The stall will be open this week on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and orders are welcome

13.01.2022 I feel as if I had opened a book and found roses of yesterday sweet and fragrant, between its leaves. - L.M. Montgomery, Anne of the Island

13.01.2022 Paper Daisys, Gum Nuts, Anemones, Roses and Statice I’ve been reading a lot about where flowers come from before they land on someone’s kitchen table. I all ways wanted to have a ‘flowers farm’ but before embarking on this journey I had no idea about the journey some flowers travel before they are sold here in shops. Did you know in Australia we import a huge amount of flowers and that when a flower is imported it’s fumigated, wrapped in plastic and often blasted with che...micals to ensure it has a long life. On top of that they are often grown indoors in conditions that create long perfect stems and untouched faultless petals, they are bread specifically to have little to no scent. I think some times I’ve been a bit hard on our blooms we grow here. I’ve inadvertently been trained to look for the perfect flower and in the process have allowed myself to miss the beauty that is held in a slightly bruised or sun kissed petal, I’ve found bent flower stems to be challenging rather than whimsical and intriguing. Open air, spray free gardening is gifting me the lesson to see beauty in yet another imperfect place, to reshape my perceptions and arrive in this place where I now know if there are to be a bunch of flowers on my kitchen table they will fill the rooms with their sweet perfume and the most beautiful thing about them will infact be the marks weathered upon them by the elements much like a beautiful wise elder, with their age comes a greater depth and wisdom to their beauty. 09.01.2022 The Mint and Sage in this first bunch smelt so good The stand will be open next Friday, Saturday and Sunday - I think we will have plenty of Roses next weekend in our mixed posies because about 10 of our bushes are ready to bloom. Which is good and bad.. Roses are beautiful and last ages in the vase but before they make it onto a bunch they can definitely be nasty to pick and removing the thrones isn’t a great job... but they are so pretty and smell so good

08.01.2022 Blue Bell love Oh the medicine of this flower is far form simple, Bluebell is complex and beautiful, she’s illuring and at first appears soft, yet there something here that takes me back to times long ago, I feel drawn to find out more about her roots and history. * The bulbs of bluebells are used in folk medicine as a remedy for leucorrhoea (a whitish or yellowish discharge of mucus from the vagina). As as a diuretic, (chiefly of drugs, causing increased passing of urine)... or styptic, (of a substance, capable of causing bleeding to stop when it is applied to a wound).- Wikipedia* Yet now in modern day terms Bluebell is seen mainly as beautiful yet poisonous plant, for if consumed she will make one quite sick. Which as I sit with her medicine makes so much sense not far beyond that first glance a timelessness appears, there’s magic here of that I’m sure. One must be so quite to hear Bluebell speak, She’s not one to trust but don’t let that fool you she’s far form weak. If one was to sit down and imagine and an oldwordly scene where wise women brewed potions from recepies passed down as a right of passage long ago, this is when and where Bluebell and her medicine would have felt safe enough to whisper, to teach those who were ready and able the value of her medicine. So this medicine that Bluebell holds need be approached with great respect before it is bestowed upon one, it must be understood, yet this understanding can’t be learnt through books, or papers, they can give clues, yes, but until her vibration is held in the up most regard with the wrong intention this stunning flower as a medicine can do more harm than good. This is the complexity of her you see. If she were to whisper to you and you were ready to hear her speak the medicine she can bestow is powerful, it’s transformative, healing and perfect in a time of major change or awakening. We will have bunches with Blue Bells available this week send a msg though if you are after a bunch for pick up on Friday

01.01.2022 Our garden is starting to look like a patch of wild flowers, I can’t wait to see how they grow with each season. Our seasonal, spray free flowers are pretty wild and unkept, they get sun spots and house an incredible amount of insects and they smell. All of them have incredible scents. Our little patch has a real cottage feel with a good grounding of natives and which add that beautiful eucalyptus scent to many of of bunches. We have actually sold out today already but if you are after orders for this weekend send them through and we can have fresh blooms ready for you to pick up in the morning
