24.01.2022 Another fun little project recently completed! Although I am not a graphic designer, one of my clients recently asked if I would be willing to create a new logo and layout for her business cards. In addition to both a 'stacked' or square logo and a 'horizontal' logo design, I also created a cute little animation for use on a website or other digital medium.

24.01.2022 How's your TikTok game? It's still growing in popularity despite facing bans in india and US. The alternative for great video marketing is definately Instagram Reels. I'll post some more on them in the next few days.

21.01.2022 Another recent website project, Independent Environment, Health, and Safety Services run by David Green is based here on the Sunshine Coast. Independent EHS is a new business providing WHS consulting services and David has a Mobile Quantitative Fit Testing Vehicle to undertake Respiratory Protective Equipment Testing on worksites throughout South-East Queensland (and further for large-scale companies). David wanted to be able to offer booking services from his website, an...d we achieved this with an integration to a Cloud based booking and payment app from his website. This cloud app integration for booking services works well for any business who books appointements for services and wants to provide an online solution while keeping control of their business branding. Take a look at his new site here https://www.independentehs.com.au I learnt a whole lot about Face Fit Testing doing this project! Face fit testing makes sure that your RPE is actually protecting you from the airbourne contaminates you encounter in your work. Queensland workers who work with Silica dust and other known contaminates are required to undergo Face Fit Testing every twelve months.

19.01.2022 Wondering if a Rebrand for you business will help your growth? While it might be tempting to think a pretty new logo, and a change to your brand colours might spark more interest, planning your rebrand is critical if your efforts are to be rewarded. If you've been in business for a little while, you can start by doing some market research into who your products or services are actually reaching (demographics), and what has been successful and what hasn’t with your current b...randing. It's a great idea to do some form of survey of your current or past customers to see what they think too. A well planned rebrand and relaunch of your business might be just what you need, but careful planning will always give you the best results.

17.01.2022 It's Fri-yay! hope you all had a good week and have something nice planned for the weekend.

16.01.2022 Wondering about posting carousel posts on instagram? Do they work? Should you use them? The answer is yes! Carousel posts on instagram, on average tend to perform slightly better for engagement than single image or single video alone. Carousels that mix images with videos bring the highest engagement rates per post - 2.33% - and recieve significantly more comments Did you know that including ‘swipe left’ in the caption really DOES make a difference! Including the "Swipe L...eft >>>" comment brings the average engagement rate from 1.83% to 2%. https://www.socialinsider.io/b/instagram-carousel-research/ See more

16.01.2022 Quick read - Using Instagram Reels As promised some info on using Instagram Reels. Here’s some recommendations on how to get started:... 1. Align Reels with your existing Instagram brand strategy. Your Reels should have a similar look and feel to the posts and stories on your Instagram page. Although it's fine to deviate a bit, don't go so far away from your core branding that viewers feel like they’re watching videos from a different company. Otherwise, they might be turned off by your content or sense that it’s just a regurgitation of a TikTok challenge. This isn’t to say that you can’t fine-tune or revitalize a former TikTok video for use on Reels, particularly if it performed well. It's highly efficient to be able to reuse content as a digital marketer. Just proceed with caution. One way to reinvent a TikTok video is to ensure it resonates with your Instagram audience by switching up the music or choosing different frames or elements. You might also want to adjust the video using Reels' integrated augmented reality options or remove AR overlays you used on the TikTok version. 2. Explore your Instagram followers’ preferences. It's worth investing time in social listening to discover what your Instagram audience engages with in terms of content across the platform. Do a little digging and watch your most engaged users’ Reels. Find out which Reels they appreciate by tracking them and their preferred hashtags. Also, look into the influencers they follow and see whether influencer video content could help you with your digital messaging. Ideally, you want to deliver a similar Reels experience to the ones your target avatars want. Again, don't just assume that your TikTok video that resonated with Generation Z on one platform will perform equally as well on Reels. Just because a user identifies with a specific age group doesn't mean the user’s behavior should be consistent across two very different platforms. 3. Become a fly on your competitors' (social) walls. If you're not following your competitors closely on both TikTok and Instagram, now is the time to start. Watch what works and jot down what doesn’t. Do this with any industry disruptors and keep a document of ideas, dos, and don’ts. One thing you're bound to notice is that the brands winning in the Reels department aren't taking themselves too seriously or overtly selling. Instead, they're showing off quirkier sides of their business, such as the behind-the-scenes processes to make a unique product. Consider ways to follow suit and use TikTok’s fast-paced, jumpy clips and transitions as inspiration for your 15-second, attention-grabbing masterpieces without worrying that they have to be master quality. #digitalmarketingagency #socialmediatips #businesscoaching https://www.business.com/articl/instagram-reels-and-tiktok/

09.01.2022 Friday Content Hint - 1min Read One of the things that can stop business owners writing blog posts or social media updates, is that they are not sure what to say. My advice is this - have a think about your business, jot down 3-4 broad topics that relate to what you do, things that you know a bit about - then pick a small thing related to one of those areas, something that you really, really know about, and write as if you are explaining that 'something' to a friend. ... Then each time you go to write a new post or update, refer back to the 3-4 broad topics you jotted down and pluck another idea from one of those trees. Over time you can start to link the various blogs you write together as they grow around your 3-4 broader topic areas or "Content Trees". Even better, you can repurpose the posts or blogs you do into shorter pieces of content like quote tiles on instagram or twitter, video posts about the same topic, or infographics for pintrest or facebook. Blog posts and social media updates don't need to be difficult when you are writing about the things you understand well. Plant some content trees for your business today, and enjoy the fruits of your labour for a long time to come.
