24.01.2022 What a weekend of action! The broadie shorey did not disappoint. Congratulations to all competitors who gave it their all in tricky conditions and spent the entire weekend smiling! Here are some action shots from both days. With the skills we saw over the weekend, it's safe to say that our beaches are in safe hands. Special thanks to Geoff Wright, Shrek and the SLSQ Event Co-Ordinators for putting me in the best spot to capture all the action! All images available at www.saltyglowphotography.com.au
21.01.2022 Amazing what difference a week can make. Calm, clean and glassy conditions for Point Danger Branch Senior Champs. Here’s some shots from the men’s water area. 21.01.2022 When you turn up to one of the last Sunday nipper days of the season, the surf is proper pumping and you hear the call of "FREE SURF". It's pretty safe to say that no matter what craft was being used or who was riding it, there was a fair level of major froth and excitement...and the odd barrel here and there! Make sure you tag your friends and remember to photo credit @Salty Glow Photography when posting on socials. No cropping/filters please. Share the whole image, including the watermark...cheers

20.01.2022 Plenty of waves on offer for Round 1 Ocean Roar Gold Coast. Talle IRB Racing Team did awesome for their first carnival. Let's hope Round 2 offers us plenty of action in the wave department too

19.01.2022 Ocean Roar Round 2 was held at Tugun SLSC over the weekend. Conditions were pretty flat and cold, so we had to be a little creative and search for different angles. Special thanks to Geoff Wright for letting me hang in his IRB and moving me into position to get the best shots! All images available at www.saltyglowphotography.com.au
19.01.2022 This is the last junior branch for our U14's and they had a blast! They had some awesome youngsters stepping up to make a highly competitive team, something that the 14's haven't had for a few seasons. Everyone put in 100%+ and did it all day with smiles on their faces! Well done kids! Unfortunately the sun didn't come out to play and give us all the pretty colours in the photos but we can't have it our way all the time. 19.01.2022 It was a lovely month off but now we are entering the pinnacle end of the season, it's full steam ahead. Apologies for the overload of albums recently. It's been a very busy week! Due to conflicting carnivals, I wasn't able to attend Day 1 of Qld Boardriding Champs. It's always great to capture the longboards in action and the U11-14's however, I just couldn't clone myself this year! Here are some of the shots taken from Day 2 on land and in the water. Some really high level ...of surfing on display and it was very entertaining. Poor Bev Walsh thought I was going to get taken out a few times while in the water. Thankfully the sandbank loves me All images have now been uploaded to the website. A reminder that website images are not in High Res.
18.01.2022 Good to see the Talle & North Burleigh IRB racing crews fine tuning their skills before the first carnival of the season. Plenty of thrills and a couple of spills. Entertaining as always
18.01.2022 Exciting weekend of competition from the best youth athletes in the State of Queensland. It all kicked off with Pool Rescue last Friday night. I have mainly captured Point Danger Branch over the weekend but there'll be shots from those in other Branches as well. I'll be uploading some of these photos to the website later but all athletes are free to download these images for no charge. You have all worked extremely hard to make it this far (some of you made the Queensland T...eam too) and I enjoyed capturing you all at your best. Beach and Ocean photos will be uploaded in the next 1-2 days so stay tuned! Please make sure that you photo credit @saltyglowphotography if you share any images on your social media.
18.01.2022 The competitors all proved they were in fact 'unbreakable' last Saturday at Alexandra Headlands. The competition was run as part of the Cooly Gold Festival and competitors from U14-Masters turned up and showed us what they were made of. Choppy, gloomy and tough conditions...yet the entire field was unbreakable! What an amazing carnival and a little glimpse for those youth competitors who missed the Cooly Gold Short Course this year. They have a good idea of what they need to... expect for their future of endurance racing! All images available at : www.saltyglowphotography.com.au/alex-unbreakable
18.01.2022 Well done to all the Open & Masters competitors today! The mature age folk certainly haven’t lost their competitiveness! I loved taking ski pics. It’s not something I get to do often so thanks for the good show everyone! Make sure you tag your friends and remember to photo credit @Salty Glow Photography when posting on socials. 18.01.2022 Congrats to South Coast Branch for taking out the overall points for the weekend! And well done to all competitors who were selected in the Queensland Cyclones Youth Pathways Squads.
17.01.2022 Last weekend saw lots of happy athletes taking to the water for their first event back for the season. Alex Headlands gave us some great conditions and everyone seemed pretty happy to be back racing again and seeing their friends from around the state. 16.01.2022 Thanks for the great write up Eliza!
15.01.2022 The sand was hot and the competition was fierce. Great capturing all the action on the beach...lightning speed all round!
15.01.2022 Great carnival at Senior Branch today. Started on time and was done and dusted just after lunch! Point Danger definitely know how to run a great carnival that's for sure! Great to see the lovely Brooke Hanson competing today as well! This album has all of the male & female U15's, the masters women surf race and some of the U17's boys blended in with the 15's at the end of the day. It's absolutely incredible watching these young stars push each other to their absolute limits. I've never seen so m...any red faces and athletes completely exhausted before. Cudos to the coaching team. You know how to get the best out of them! It's an absolute privilege to capture these moments. These kids are so lucky to have an amazing team of coaches/mentors/team managers helping them to become the absolute best versions of themselves, building the Queensland Cyclones morale and this year in particular, to be the only State in Australia to be able to have this opportunity. Up the mighty QLD CYCLONES! Can't wait for the mini carnival tomorrow!
14.01.2022 Nothing better than a morning of fun little waves to celebrate the end of Autumn
12.01.2022 Qld Youth State Champs Day 1 did not disappoint. While there was a significant lack of swell, there was enough of a tiny wave to allow thrills and spills. Amazing effort by all on the beach today. All images are available at www.saltyglowphotography.com.au/qld-youth-champs-d1/ No enhancements have been made to website images as yet. 12.01.2022 Straddie on firetoday. Crowded and pumping! Saw many snapped boards
12.01.2022 A little wave and some challenging conditions for some of the competitors last weekend at GCCT. Great to see everyone having lots of fun! 11.01.2022 The surf was pumping for the annual SLSQ Gold Coast Surf League carnival last week. Awesome skills displayed by all the kids on the beach. Smiles all round because a school day on the beach competing against your friends is pretty awesome right?! All images available at www.saltyglowphotography.com.au
10.01.2022 For the first time in many years, Tallebudgera entered a small, but keen (and nervous), team into Branch Surf Rescue Champs. U14 Nippers Bridee and Makeisha (coached by Gavin Cole) competed in Champion Lifesaver and placed 1st and 2nd respectively (and Gavin 3rd in his age group), which will see them qualifying for State Titles next month. This carnival covers 4 races on the beach (Swim, Board, Tube Race and Sprint), as well as the most important part of the competition, CPR... (live patient and mannequin) and a Theory Exam. The CPR and Theory makes up a majority of the points. Considering we train our kids up to be awesome patrolling members, this is by far one of the best carnivals. Looking at their CPR skills, I would feel very safe with them on my patrol group! Happy studying and good luck at State Titles guys!
10.01.2022 Lots of excitement and plenty of cheering happening for the water relays at the start and end of the day. Congratulations to all! All Board/Iron/Surf Teams & Rescues wil be upoaded tomorrow. Don't forget to tag @saltyglowphotography when sharing on socials.
09.01.2022 If you competed at Qld Boardriding Champs last weekend, all photos taken from land and water will be uploaded to the website by tomorrow night. Apologies for the delay but between juggling work and other commitments, there simply aren’t enough hours in the day. Here's a little shot of our Open Men's winner, Maddy Job, having way too much fun putting the rest of the field into combo situations! Well done Maddy. Absolutely ripping!
06.01.2022 What a magic morning in the ocean today. The kids had a blast. So many fun waves!
03.01.2022 Great morning of training for the Qld Youth Cyclones squad. These top athletes from all over Queensland were put to the test and showed us what they were made of. No doubt the rest of their day has been packed full of fun! Looking forward to capturing more of this talented bunch over the next couple of days! Don't forget to photo credit @saltyglowphotography when sharing on social media. Thanks ... @qldcyclones

02.01.2022 I’ve been playing around shooting from the water this last week. I’m loving the challenge so far. Here’s a little clip I put together of the youth training squad at Tallebudgera SLSC with their first session back after CV restrictions.
01.01.2022 The Gold Coast Surf Lifesaving Clubs took to the pool last weekend for their first carnival since iso. They had a lot of fun and there were plenty of smiles to be had by all. All photos available at www.saltyglowphotography.com.au
01.01.2022 Point Danger Branch Senior Champs - Beach Events...where sprints, flags and relays are held late afternoon and into the night under lights. The 2km run was the following in hot and muggy conditions. Here’s some shots from the beach area.
