25.01.2022 Surf School Colourful foamies adorn the banks of North Bondi. They made for a very pretty picture on this spring day, when the shallows were sparkling

25.01.2022 Crushed Ice Another from that wild morning down in Maroubra this winter, you seemed to love my last shot of this, let me know your thoughts!

24.01.2022 Summer Sizzler We have been well and truly spoilt over the last 24 hours, with a sunset and sunrise combo that rival autumn’s best! This was shot at about 5:30 this morning when an intense colour lit up the beautifully textured clouds for just a few minutes, did you catch it?

24.01.2022 Heads up! Did you know that humpback calves drink up to 600 litres of mum’s milk every day and keep growing until they’re 10 years old!? No wonder they have so much energy! [heavily cropped]

23.01.2022 Trapped in Paradise New South Wales has been a pretty stunning place to be stuck for the last 6 months. I’ve been able to explore more of the north coast over the last few weeks and have absolutely loved stumbling across gems like this

23.01.2022 Head in the Clouds How about this crazy sky that loomed over us on this weekend’s road trip up the coast of NSW?! @sadiejane21 and I couldn’t believe our luck and hopped on the roof of our wagon to get a closer look

23.01.2022 Whammy Who else misses these friendly passers-by?!

22.01.2022 Mr Whippy How about this morning glow on a moody, stormy morning at Maroubra back in June?!

22.01.2022 Choked This beautiful pair of common dolphin were dancing peacefully below a glassy surface off the coast of Bondi this morning. Only when I checked my photos did I notice the unwanted neck accessory that one was wearing. Each year an estimated 8 million metric tonnes of plastic enter our ocean, joining the 150 million metric tonnes that already circulates our marine environment. This has to change

20.01.2022 Hot Pursuit Happy Sunday everyone! I’m launching a sale online tonight to help you get set for Christmas! Save 20% on all prints!! Here’s a tropical throwback in the meantime...... It was fascinating watching these elegant rays glide over the shallows of the reef in various formations every morning in the Maldives. They might not be as imposing as their manta cousins, but they’re pretty awesome nonetheless

19.01.2022 Golden Gulp I spent hours and hours chilling with 5 green turtles in the shallows of Byron and it was magical! I’d wanted to get a shot like this for a while, it takes patience and then some quick reactions to capture the moment the head pops up for a gulp of sweet air! Took me a while to get capture this one, hope you like it!

19.01.2022 Shark or Ray? Guitar Sharks, or Guitarfish, or Shovel-nose Sharks have a body form intermediate between those of sharks and rays. The tail has a typical shark-like form, but in many species, the head has a triangular, or guitar-like shape, rather than the disc-shape formed by fusion with the pectoral fins found in other rays. It is classified as a ray and it looks beautiful

19.01.2022 Phresh The first shot I wanted to get with my drone back in 2017 was a top down of my iconic local pool! Fast forward 3 years and it still looks icy fresh after cleaning day

17.01.2022 Lazy Lunch Two critically endangered Grey Nurse Sharks weave in and out of a sprawling shoal of salmon in the shallows of Tamarama beach, here in Sydney. Grey Nurses are so docile and friendly, they need our love and protection

17.01.2022 Gettin’ Shaded This was shot on a chilly morning shortly before the country was thrown into lockdown earlier this year. I have never seen/surfed such clean conditions in and around Sydney as I did on this morning. This fella was definitely making the most of the glassy barrels

17.01.2022 Bronte Blaze This sunrise from autumn looked exactly how this weekend felt in Sydney! It seems to be finally cooling back down this evening, how did you escape the heat?!

17.01.2022 Bondi Banks There’s had been precious little swell around Sydney this spring...until this week. But the banks at Bondi have been looking pretty magical under the dead flat, crystal clear shallows It’s looking a bit different right now though, as a monster swell as hit town!

17.01.2022 In the Face How about this for a pristine slab?! Looking forward to shooting more waves in the coming months, it’s just the best place to be

16.01.2022 Seaside Strolls The afternoons are getting longer and with that comes post-work beach time! What better time than now to wander the shoreline of the beautiful Bondi beach?! Shop: https://www.saltyseadog.sydney/pr/brand-new-seaside-strolls

16.01.2022 Drifting Away I absolutely adore these Australian Fur Seals! This fella was floating around for hours just off-shore last weekend, basking in that glorious spring sunshine

16.01.2022 Bird-eater Finally managed to get out on @oceanextreme with @quadeightuav and the gang after a season of near-misses! We were treated to an incredible show by this little entertainer right outside the harbour to set things off! Massive shout out to @quadeightuav for hosting the party and to the skipper @captainbort for an awesome afternoon

15.01.2022 Where’s Wally? Christmas Edition With weeks of cloud and rain forecast over the festive period, beachgoers definitely made the most of the beautiful sunshine on Sunday!

15.01.2022 Crystal Chunk Here’s a snap from a much cleaner swell earlier this year! Hoping for some more of this as the storm passes this week

14.01.2022 Solitary Shadows II A recent favourite of mine (from a strange period of our lives) but a slightly different frame and a warmer edit, what do you reckon?! Happy Friday one and all!

13.01.2022 Coming through! Salmon clear the path for the local nurse shark at Tamarama Beach. I’ve never seen a nurse shark actually have a go at catching any salmon...or doing anything other than swim along peacefully for that matter! Grey Nurse Sharks just seem to be the most gentle, easy-going creatures around, certainly not something to fear!

12.01.2022 Heart of the Ocean A lone dolphin corrals a dense shoal of salmon into a near-perfect heart at Tamarama Beach back in 2018. I love the ocean

12.01.2022 Colour Bomb Here’s a splash of colour from a sunset stunner over Bondi to brighten up a grey and stormy Wednesday

11.01.2022 Bunsen Burner It was a glorious start to the day up here in Byron yesterday

11.01.2022 Christmas Jigsaw SALE! Swipe through and check out my Christmas stock of puzzles! A few classics and some new ones thrown in for good measure - the perfect stocking filler

11.01.2022 Electric Guitar I was lucky enough to come across two of these beauties in the shallows of north NSW on my road trip up to Byron this weekend This beautiful Guitar Shark is actually classed as a ray. Patrolling the shallows, they are equipped with something called ‘Ampullae of Lorenzini’, an organ situated under their snout which allows them to locate prey beneath the sand.

11.01.2022 Grey Rays A trio of graceful eagle rays for your Christmas Eve-Eve feed. I just love these beauties, especially when they’re hanging out together

10.01.2022 All you can eat A throwback to this magical morning for this week’s #topdowntuesday Our local seal had an absolute feast laid out for him in the shallows and he didn’t hesitate in tucking right in!

10.01.2022 Mini Me Shop: https://www.saltyseadog.sydney/products/brand-new-mini-me This tiny little calf was born at about 1.5 tonnes in weight! What does that say about the size of the mum?!... These two put on the most amazing show over the weekend as they socialised and splashed about with dolphins and other whale families for hours! Happy #topdowntuesday

10.01.2022 Three Amigos Love these guys! I’m sure they’ve been having a blast in these stormy seas somewhere out there! Here’s a throwback to calmer days

10.01.2022 Molten Reflections A beautiful start to Christmas Eve this morning down at Bronte Pool with a great group@of talented photographers @rdear.photography @carvedbanks @seansperception @patrizio___ @seeshots @wavesbyannie @nikkibings

10.01.2022 Clarity of Mind Nothing quite like a sunrise surf in the crystal clear shallows to de-clutter the mind in this crazy world. The south coast is always happy to help

10.01.2022 Watercolour Nursery Who would’ve thought the water would look like this on Friday after days of storms?! I just love watching these beautiful Grey Nurse Sharks laze amongst the fish in the shallow, they’re always so relaxed

09.01.2022 Bronte Bliss Dreaming of days like this down at Bronte - this chilly winter morning had it all! Sunshine. Swell. Clarity

09.01.2022 Over here!! How exciting is it when the local dolphins go surfing!? Every leap and splash is met with a chorus of support and celebration from onlookers! These two were part of a pod that gave us a lesson in surfing earlier this year at Bronte

09.01.2022 Patterns in Nature Nature creates the most beautiful art...like this stunning pattern found at the mouth of an estuary in Killalea, south of Sydney

09.01.2022 Bottlenose Bliss I will never get tired of watching dolphins, especially in conditions like this Dolphins can make up to 1,000 clicking noises per second. The sounds travel underwater until they encounter objects, then bounce back to reveal their surroundings in great detail.

08.01.2022 Escape Shallow waters, sunshine and salmon school make for such a dreamy combination! Here’s one from a few weeks ago at Bronte, as a swimmer passes by a huge school of fish

08.01.2022 Frothing My good mate @_tommycook10 charging through the good stuff up the coast on a picture perfect morning Shot using my new @seafrogs.com.hk housing

08.01.2022 Run Aground Earlier this year I came across this dramatic sight just a few feet under crystal-clear, dead flat water on the South Coast Can you spot the chunky stingray? Happy #topdowntuesday

07.01.2022 Coming in hot Check out the little calf emerging at top speed from the depths as mum makes a mess with her monstrous pectoral fins at the surface Shop: https://www.saltyseadog.sydney/prod/brand-new-coming-in-hot

06.01.2022 Look Mum! A moment frozen in time from Thursday’s stunning mother & calf show at Maroubra beach. The littlelun seems to be getting the hang of this whale business

06.01.2022 A Whale’s Tale Humpback Whales are believed to have been around for about 45 million years...that’s at least 40 million years longer than humans! This adult whale spent hours teaching the next generation how to tail slap this weekend and it was so awesome to see

06.01.2022 Motley Crue How about this glassy water down south?! I love the different light play across their backs - dolphins seem to be everywhere at the moment...and I love it! Shop: https://www.saltyseadog.sydney//prod/brand-new-motley-crue

05.01.2022 Pool with a view (Remastered) Just another frame of our incredibly photogenic local pool! This is a remake of one of my first ever drone shots, one that is that bit sharper and looks that little bit better blown up on a wall

05.01.2022 Slappa Da Bass Did you know that tail slapping is also referred to as lobtailing? Commonly thought to be a method of communication, the sound it gives off is immense!

05.01.2022 Early-bird CHRISTMAS SALE now on Shop now: https://www.saltyseadog.sydney/ No code needed, just hop online and shop!

04.01.2022 Jumping for Joy Hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend! It’s so hard to keep up with these beauties and guess what they’re going to do next! One minute they’re a shadow (like this one’s friends beneath), the next they’re leaping through the air

04.01.2022 Commoners I’ve always thought Common Dolphin to be an underwhelming name for these beautiful dolphins! Common Dolphin are slightly smaller than their bottlenose cousins, have distinctive golden flanks and tend to travel in bigger pods, sometimes up to 10,000 strong! Common Dolphin are the most abundant cetacean in the world, hence the name, but I still think it does them a disservice! ... Anyway, happy #topdowntuesday

04.01.2022 Tangerine Dreams Have you ever seen two identical clouds? How about this beauty from a peaceful Bronte morning!?

04.01.2022 Feverish Did you know that these beautiful spotted Eagle Rays can grow up to 5m in length with a 3m wingspan?! When compared to other rays, that’s second only to the manta! I love the way the sun was dancing on the backs of these beauties through the ripples

03.01.2022 Bronte Barrels Bronte is a very special place to be, especially when the water is clear and the waves are clean!

03.01.2022 Alone in Paradise Things are looking wild on the north coast of NSW at the moment, hope everyone is staying safe. Everything was so tranquil when I was there last month! How about the texture of the water and the light off the dolphins back on this perfect morning, such a special place

03.01.2022 Emerald Shores It’s awesome to watch the unique patterns that shore-breaks form from above. The way the water slams into the shore and stirs up the sand is mesmerising and it never gets old because no two waves are the same! Shop: https://www.saltyseadog.sydney/pro/brand-new-emerald-shores

02.01.2022 Jet Powered Another view of the feast that the local sea lion enjoyed last week at Bronte! Did you know that sea lions can swim at over 40kmh, just look at this fella go Shop: https://www.saltyseadog.sydney/produc/brand-new-jet-powered
