12.01.2022 The Inner Life. Psalm 19 verse 14.. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your site, oh Lord my strength, and my redeemer. There is always more to our lives than meets the eye. We have an outward life that we present to the world around us, and we have an inner life that only you and God knows about. This secret life is a key to our successes or failures. It determines our destiny both here on earth and in eternity.... The words of our mouth can often give us a glimpse into what really is in our hearts. Psalm 33 verses 12 to 14 give us some good advice... Who is the man who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from speaking evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good. Keep your tongue from speaking evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it. Life is full of challenges and we can collect a lot of garbage along the way. We can develop a heart that has been scarred or perhaps the life within you is being choked out with weeds of bitterness and unforgiveness. We may not be able to trust all people, but we can trust God and his desire to do us only good. It can be a dangerous thing to rely heavily on someone else. Don’t seek from someone else, that which only God can give you. The Lord is our strength and our Redeemer. Protect your inner life. Let it be filled with treasure, not trash. Let’s finish again with the words of Psalm 19 verse 14, Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, the acceptable in your sight oh Lord my strength and my Redeemer.

04.01.2022 RETURN TO THE LORD. This is what the Sovereign Lord the Holy One of Israel says: only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. Isaiah 30:15-16 So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for His help....he will be gracious if you ask for help, He will surely respond to your cries. Isaiah 30:18-19.... God is speaking this to his people today. Only in returning to me with your whole heart, will you truly be saved and find rest and peace for your soul. A quiet restful spirit and a confident outlook will mark those whose trust is in the Lord. During this time of isolation and fear bought on by Covid19, many people started to look to God for answers. People begin to seek the Lord earnestly. God has said that He must wait for us to come to him. Jesus told a story about a man who had a prodigal son who walked away from his family and lived on the wild side until poverty and homelessness overtook him. All the while the father‘s heart longed for the return of his son. He gave us this illustration to demonstrate the Father God’s heart towards us. He is longing for our return. We have made our choices. God has given us free will and he respects our choices, even when those choices will break our hearts or those of our family. He waits for us to return to him so that he can be gracious to us and shower us with blessings. So as restrictions are easing let’s still press in close to the Lord. We really don’t know what the future holds. Let’s not be complacent. Stay close to the Lord. Hold on to his faithful promises. They are an anchor for our souls during these turbulent times. God Bless and take care.

01.01.2022 Psalm 89:15 Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord. Come worship the Lord with us tomorrow at Dalby Corps, 7 Alfred St. There is something powerful when we praise and worship the Lord. The Psalms are full of praise and Thanksgiving. There is an historical account in 2 Chronicles 20 about King Jehoshaphat being surrounded on every side by armies more numerous than he could count. It was certain death, but Jeh...oshaphat sought the Lord. The Lord gave him the battle plan and said that the enemy will be defeated without his army actually entering into the battle. God instructed him to send the singers out ahead of the army, then stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and praise him for the splendour of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying give thanks to the Lord, for his mercy and endures forever. As the praises rang out confusion hit the enemy and they turned on each other and were annihilated. That’s the power of praise! It’s scatters the enemy. We may not feel like praising God during the difficult times, but if we discipline ourselves to do it, we will find the darkness and oppression will scatter and hope and faith will arise. Let’s praise him today for he is worthy of all praise and glory. He has saved us from the dominion of darkness. He gave his life for us, paid a dreadful price to set us free from the effect and penalty of sin. Now that’s something to be grateful about Let’s agree with the psalmist in Psalm 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
