22.01.2022 A beautiful memorial service for a much loved and adored daughter, mum, work colleague and friend
21.01.2022 This post was put on my personal page by a beautiful lady who's wedding I officiated in January. This ceremony was done in conjunction with the one and only Debbie Maree Brown who also works as a celebrant, however has not done her official training as a marriage celebrant so unable to take care of the legalities. Debbie is a close friend of the bride. I have also known the bride and her family for a number of years so I was asked to take care of the legalities with Debbie c...onducting the bulk of the ceremony. And I have to say we make a great team! This was even more special as it was a surprise from everyone. Debbie and I were like undercover cops, hiding in the carpark, "sussing" the place out and doing our best not to be seen by family as they arrived ( as they all know who we are and would have wondered what we were doing there!) It was hilarious and fun at the same time. Who knows? Debbie and I might go into undercover work in the future - LOL. Anyway, it was a lovely ceremony - you could feel the love and excitement in the air as they all gathered on the balcony of the Lagoon Restaurant overlooking the beach, as Karen and Shayne became husband and wife. Thanks so much for involving me - I loved every single minute! These are Karen's words:- If you are looking for a truly wonderful celebrant then look no further than the beautiful Samantha Lysaught and/or Debbie Maree Brown. They have and always will be very special family friends. Words cannot express how grateful my gorgeous husband Shayne and I are for all they both did to ensure our intimate secret wedding ceremony was perfect in every way.
16.01.2022 Trying to make the absolute most out of our lockdown to get things done. Today I have all about completed my bookwork for the financial year - just a few loose ends to tie up. I have finished my OPD ( Ongoing professional development ) which is a requirement for all appointed marriage celebrants. ... Now to assist a family in a eulogy for their family member. Love my celebrant life. It is so wide and varied. #samanthalysaughtcelebrant #lifescelebrationsbysamantha #OPD #celebrantlife
15.01.2022 Last year saw many weddings and events postponed due to the pandemic. A couple I met earlier in the year planned to marry in April. They were always planning a small wedding with their closest relatives and friends, however didn't want to put anyone at risk and also adhered to the restrictions that were in place. In late July, as the numbers increased slightly they decided that they would celebrate their wedding in August.... They chose the glorious location of Macarthur Park at Camden. The gardens there are beautiful and wonderfully maintained, providing many lovely spots for photos with stunning backdrops. Chris and Nicola make such a lovely couple - they are both very outgoing and friendly, and just love life. It was an honour to be able to assist them with their marriage, and play a role in their very special day. Chris gave the honour to his grandfather as being his witness which was just beautiful. I had a good old chat to him before the wedding which was great - he is from the UK, not far from where I was born, so it was good to reminisce. Nicola had her grandmother as witness too which is such a lovely touch. It's nice to include the special people in our lives where we can. They also included their very special furbaby who is a massive part of their lives! I wish Chris and Nicola every happiness in life. Photos are courtesy of Kerstin of Intrinsic Photography who was a delight to work alongside. #samanthalysaughtcelebrant #lifescelebrationsbysamantha #macarthurpark
13.01.2022 Very wise and touching words
13.01.2022 Wow ! This was such a nice surprise from a lady who I had the pleasure to meet, and then officiate her marriage a few years ago. Emma posted this morning and tagged me in. The weather was sensational for their wedding. It was a very happy and uplifting ceremony, with family and friends all singing along to the music that was played as part of the ceremony. Thankyou Emma Te Raki for having me as your celebrant. I love how we have stayed in touch. I have seen your business Bea...uty by EmmaJayne go from strength to strength. Hard work, passion and dedication definitely pays off. #lovemyjob #samanthalysaught #lifescelebrationsbysamantha
12.01.2022 Three months ago today I started on a journey of trying to lose weight. I shared this on facebook to make myself accountable. I gave up certain foods and I began walking. I am ecstatic to say that three months later I have lost 11kgs. ... I have said to a lot of people, that whilst I feel different, and my clothes are more loose, I personally can't see anything different when I see my reflection in the mirror. That was until last week when I was sent some photos of a wedding I did back in August last year and what an eyeopener it was! I didn't realise how much weight I had put on ( and I blame Covid for that ) Being at home a lot more during those early months and lockdown, I was eating more and more - and more of things that I don't typically eat like dessert! Well here is the proof! When I got these photos last week, I put the same top on and did a photo as a comparison - what a difference it has made - I am very happy with my result and more than happy to share my progress. ( I didn't iron the top - oops!) This just goes to show that when you put your mind to something, you do see the results. Thankyou for those along the way who have given me encouragement and support - my number one supporter is my lovely husband Wazza
09.01.2022 This is a very touching video on the subject of Mum's who raise boys. https://www.facebook.com/282833978501/videos/444264116466357
08.01.2022 This was a beautiful wedding of a beautiful young couple who waited quite some time to marry , thanks to Covid. When the big day finally arrived, love was most DEFINITELY in the air! Family and friends all celebrated with the lovely couple, firstly at the The Italian food Project Camden and then at Vaby's Restaurant Picton. They were lucky enough to have some great videographers Hidden leaf productions and photographers The Sidewalk Artist on hand to capture so many preciou...s moments - moments they will treasure forever. Thankyou Felicity and Adam for asking me to be your celebrant on this very special day. I wish you nothing but happiness for many MANY years to come. Love to you both #lifescelebrationsbysamantha #samanthalysaughtcelebrant
07.01.2022 When meeting with families, the subject often arises of family pets, and how much they are missing the person who has died. I personally don't think we give enough credit to animals. They have an amazing sense and they too feel the grief that we feel when our loved one dies. They grieve like we do - they search for their owner and naturally we can't explain to them what has happened. All we can do is continually hug them and shower them with our love. After all, they truly ...do give us unconditional love. In the past seven months we have had to say goodbye to our two furbabies - Ruby and Molly. We had them for 11 and 12 years respectively and they were so very close. They got on famously and both me and my husband saw the change in Molly when Ruby left this earth. She was pining for her - looking to the door every time it opened, hoping her little sister was going to come home Sadly she didn't. Then just seven months later, we had to say our farewells to Molly We were now heartbroken however sadly didn't have a choice. We would not make either of our babies suffer - it just isn't fair. I am sure that all of the furbabies we have lost are all frolicking over the Rainbow Bridge - free from their pain and ailments. #furbabiesarefamily #samanthalysaughtcelebrant #unconditionallove
05.01.2022 Something very close to my heart - sadly I see this day in day out. Treasure your parents while they are still here on earth. Parenting is not an easy job, and it certainly doesn't come with a manual on how to do things. It is all learning along the way and many mistakes are made. Once your parents have gone, it is too late - so don't have any regrets - if it is possible to mend bridges, why not try? Extend the olive branch. ... Yes it is true - none of us know what goes on behind closed doors, and some relationships can't be salvaged - so it is also important not to judge families and their dynamics. I am very lucky to have been raised by two loving parents - they were not perfect, and neither was I - but I treasured them to the very end ( and still do ). My apologies for such a deep post - as I said, it is something very close to my heart
