25.01.2022 I am thankful following a meeting I attended today with the Qld Chief Health Officer that she has agreed that Thallon 4497, St George 4487, and Bollon 4488 postal codes will all be included in the border bubble from 1am Thursday 20 August. I thank Ann Leahy for her advocacy during the meeting and in the last few weeks for residents of our Shire around this issue. There were also commitments made around the permit processes and Agricultural exemptions to be rolled out in the coming days over their web portal. I think it’s a positive outcome for Balonne Shire.

07.01.2022 It’s been an absolute honor to represent Balonne at the inaugural meeting of the Western Qld Alliance of Councils (WQAC). 21 Councils in regional and remote parts representing 60% of Qld have joined forces to fight for the bush. Thanks to the DGs, public servants, state agencies, and State and Federal Politicians who made the journey to Longreach to hear our issues and commit to working together to get better outcomes for our communities. #wqac2020 Balonne Shire
