17.01.2022 We were grateful to have a visit from Aunty Sharron this term. Sharron Mirii Bell is a proud Gamilaraay Wiradyuri woman and founder of Indigenous Insights which has been operating since 2005. She has worked in early childhood for many years and her natural connection with the children was obvious. Our children were completely engaged in her story telling and singing and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of learning about the culture of Australia's first people. Through Aunt...y Sharron's stories, the underlying themes were clear. Our connectedness to the earth and the importance of caring for all of nature, so that it stays healthy and in turn helps us stay healthy. This inspired both groups of children to explore more of the culture and traditions of the Aboriginal people. The children enjoyed creating clay paintings, hand prints and a giant Rainbow Serpent as well as looking at the symbols used in Indigenous art. The Blue Powerful Owls set up an Australian animal area, which has since evolved into an Australian animal vet surgery. See more

16.01.2022 Another wonderful turn out from our amazing parents attending our working bee this weekend. We are so appreciative of the time you give to help make our kindy even more beautiful for our children. From cleaning gutters, sanitising sandpits, painting timber platforms and cleaning wheelie bins - every little job is a wonderful help. Thank you again to all of you, who gave up your Saturday morning to help out and smiled throughout.
