23.01.2022 Hi everyone, just a quick FYI, Rob's efforts at the weekend working bee means that the back play area is now cleared and accessible again. Thank you Rob. It's a wonderfully wet and muddy space. (A hose from the water tank creates a mini creek bed) The children love it! So towels and a change of clothes may be worth throwing in the car. It came into existence last year when Kate and her family spent hours clearing the area of it's waist high weeds. Thank you Kate & Co. Then Scott a dad fom last year put in a huge amount of hours and labour to create this fun addition to playgroup. If you're reading this Scott, a huge thank you again for all your hard work! 21.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I trust you're all well and that the new norm is going smoothly for you. PG will be opening again in Term 3 with the first day being Tuesday 14th July. We will be guided by PG QLD guidelines and requirements in relation to how the space is used and social distancing etc; more on that closer to the date.... At this stage, PG will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week. We are presently seeking a second contact person for Thursdays. Please get in touch if interested. Samford PG has always relied on volunteer families and for the last 45 years fluctuated in how many days it has been able to open based on volunteer availability. If any families out there want Samford PG to remain open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and are able to volunteer to open up and be the contact person on these days, please get in touch. 20.01.2022 C H R I S T M A S 2 0 1 9 As last years giving tree was very well received, we have decided to continue the tradition this year. Instead of giving a gift to our Playgroup friends, we ask instead you consider giving to those less fortunate. We will have a collection box set up if you would like to give a cash donation. All monies raised will be donated to the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal. ... If you would like to give a physical gift, we ask you drop it directly to your choice of charity (such as Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal, The Pyjama Foundation, Micah Projects, GIVIT - Goods For Good Causes, Karuna...) And in the last week of 2019 (16-20 December) well have a Christmas Party at Playgroup. Please bring a plate along to share (no nuts or eggs please). Thank you for helping us to spread our good fortunes and Christmas spirit this season

Possible dates: Sunday 2nd August or Sunday 9th August ... at 8.30am to 10.30am Its time to clean, clear, trim and clip, rake and blow! And give our beloved playgroup space some much needed TLC. Please nominate below which day suits you better and we will decide the most popular, and share more details then of what is needed in terms of jobs and tools. 19.01.2022 And thats a wrap for 2019! Were officially on holidays until the week starting 6 January 2020. Thank you to everyone thats attended this year! A special big ginormous thank you to everyone that volunteered their time this year- without you guys wed have no Playgroup. And of course the biggest of all thank yous to our wonderful amazing volunteer Julia for manning the fort behind the scenes. Wed be lost without her. At this stage, it looks like we might not be running on... Mondays and Fridays in 2020 as we have no volunteers for day contacts. If youre interested in being a day contact please PM the page ASAP! 19.01.2022 Hi everyone, another delightful morning at PG and an absolute dream team COVID clean. Thanks. It's so wonderful to see the children in a happy playful flow together all morning and all the new children settlimg in so beautifully. A quick reminder reference the social distancing requirements at playgroup, which have been laid down by PG Qld based on Qld Health guidelines. ... Myself and Kate as primary contact people have to put social distance modelling in place, hence the cross markings on the trampoline mats and the tying up of one of the swings. Any enquires in relation to this social distance modelling, please refer to PG Qld website. Thanks. 17.01.2022 Hi everyone, I hope you're all well and had a good week. A quick FYI for tomorrow, I've got work in the afternoon so I'll be heading off by 11. I'll do what I can to help with the cleaning etc, before I leave.... Kate had a great idea of putting together a cleaning "lucky dip" so we may be going with that tomorrow : ) P.S. 10.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I had contact with all the Tuesday and Wednesday families yesterday. Apart from one family, they are all self-isolating. So Kate and I have decided to close playgroup on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for a little while. It will at this stage remain open on Thursdays. We will keep the FB page updated with reopening news. 09.01.2022 Hi everyone, a quick FYI. After a recent chat with PG Qld, our COVID sign in requirements will now be taken care of solely by the members and visitors sign in sheets/folders. There will be a COVID Declaration Statement attached to each folder, and by signing in we're all in agreement of no to the questions. If there's a yes to any of the questions families won't be able to attend playgroup (Please see the photo below for clarity). For Qld Health purposes all visitors are re...quired please to record their mobile numbers when signing in and members are asked to please fill out a members information sheet. Thanks. Hopefully this change will make signing in quicker and tracing (if ever needed) easier. Fingers crossed this all makes sense and remember "not to shoot me I'm just the messenger" Kind regards Julia

09.01.2022 Hi again everyone, I hope you're all well . Only 2 more sleeps to the reopening of PG! As promised a quick FYI on Thursdays at PG. At this stage it won't be reopening on Thursdays.... Dear Chelsea our wonderful and long, long term (6/7 years!!) Thursday contact person needs to pull back and focus on study. A big thank you to you Chelsea, for your amazing committment, kindness and creativity. Everyone who was lucky to have met you benefitted enormously from your inclusive, helpful and friendly manner, plus the joy your three beautiful children bought to playgroup. On everyone's behalf, I wish you lots of fulfilment with your study and we'll all look forward to a catch up when you can make it. Kindest regards from us all at PG.

It's going to be absolutely wonderful for us all to see each other again and to welcome new members. News on next Thursday's Playgroup will be posted in the next few days.... In line with PG Qld requirements for reopening please refer to the previous posted guidelines. The newest one to consider now is for families to please refrain from attending for the required two weeks of quarantine if anyone in the family has been to Victoria recently. Thank you. 05.01.2022 Okay here it is everyone, another essay post by me, hopefully the last for a while! For 100% clarity at this stage, until somebody is able to fully commit to reopening playgroup on other days, playgroup is presently only reopening on Tuesdays. Today Kate and I were clean and disinfecting machines at PG. We also hid most of the toys. ... Samford Playgroup is out of necessity returning to it's wonderful roots, of kind social connection and playing simply in nature with very few resources. The hut is open with a few toys and a maximum of 12 individuals in there at any one time, this includes adults, children and babies. Please bring your own hot drinks as the kitchen is completely out of bounds, apart from refilling water bottles and using the micro wave to heat babies bottles. Snack sharing is also not permitted. The toilets will need to be cleaned/disinfected before and after each session, as do all the toys used, (hence why we hid so many) all surfaces need to wiped/disinfected and the floor mopped. We'll work a roster of sorts together. Are you asleep yet? : ) Nearly finished. When you arrive tomorrow you'll all need to sign a health declaration before entering PG. Then lastly, please ensure you arrive at PG with your Playgroup Qld membership number as of tomorrow you'll all need to write it in the sign in book for COVID tracking purposes. Please contact PG Qld directly and source your membership number and status, as I understand it, there's a six month extension on all memberships. Term 3 fees are $30 as per usual or $4 a session. Our last session for 2020 is Tuesday the 22nd of December and our first session for 2021 is Tuesday the 2nd of February.
