24.01.2022 One in 5 mothers will experience perinatal anxiety and / or depression. The key to getting help is being able to recognise that something is wrong and being brave enough to ask for help to ‘tell someone who cares’. Simple things like be able to talk to your partner, child and family health nurse, doctor or PANDA’s National Helpline. Learn more about the signs and symptoms: https://buff.ly/2CHP7gD ... 12.01.2022 Its the holiday season and turkey, prawns, steak are on the menu all traditional holiday fare, but what can you eat? Whatever you decide to dine on this festive season, if you’re pregnant there are a few things to keep in the back of your mind. There are a few different kinds of bacteria which can live in the tasty treats you’ll want to avoid over the festive season. You can enjoy most fish and shellfish during pregnancy, as long as you cook them properly and eat them whi...le they’re still hot. There are some fish and seafood you should avoid, though, as they have a high risk of contamination with parasites, germs or toxins. Here’s what you should steer clear of: smoked seafood, including smoked salmon and trout, because of the risk of listeria infection pre-cooked prawns, because of the risk of listeria infection fresh, raw seafood, including sashimi and oysters, because of the risk of tapeworms and other parasites, listeria infection and food poisoning from other bacteria and viruses Sydney Harbour fish and seafood such as oysters, because they contain high levels of harmful dioxins You should also limit how much fish you eat that may be high in mercury, which can affect your baby’s development. If you eat the following fish: have only one serve (150 grams) of shark (flake), marlin or swordfish (broadbill) per fortnight, and then avoid eating any other fish in that fortnight have only one serve (150 grams) per week of orange roughy (deep-sea perch) or catfish, and then avoid eating any other fish that week

08.01.2022 Friday Funny! And cute too

08.01.2022 Depression and anxiety are the most common mental health problems in pregnancy and affects approximately 15% of all expectant mothers. It is expected that your emotions are heightened during pregnancy. There are many external and internal factors which can cause an increase in your emotional state during pregnancy, and it does not mean you are moody or crazy. Pregnancy emotions are a normal part of development. It is important to treat mental health concerns during pregna...ncy. Mothers who are depressed, anxious, or have another issue might not get the medical care they need. They might not take care of themselves, or they may use drugs and alcohol during the pregnancy. All these things can harm a growing baby. If you have a mental health issue, talk with your doctor so you can get the help you need during and after your pregnancy. How Can I Get Help? If you feel anxious or depressed, talk to a doctor, counsellor, or therapist, and get help right away. The sooner treatment starts, the sooner you will feel better. @pandanational 1300 726 306
