21.01.2022 Daria has been working with me for a few months now. I don’t want to make all the cliche statements most trainers do on their pages. She showed up every day... She never missed a session She did everything I said Never has a cheat day blah blah blah I’m proud of what you have achieved and continue to do with your fitness and mindset. Good work Daria!
20.01.2022 Thought it was important to weigh in on this subject. So yesterday, in the fitness industry there had been a LOT of controversy. A well known fitness brand called Gym Shark posted an image of a model on their instagram.... The comments that followed the post were what I can only describe as disgusting and in fact pretty unbelievable. For those of you who aren't aware, Gymshark is a very popular brand of fitness/Lifestyle clothing. However, the models they use to show off their clothing are men and women with ripped abs, huge biceps, massive chests and what some people would consider to be unattainable and unrealistic physiques for a huge majority of us. Many of those physiques were attained with anabolic steroids. This has been something in which they have been criticised a hell of a lot for. Fast forward to yesterday and Gymshark seemed to have made a u-turn with their marketing. Now, to me this is awesome. This is normal. This is healthy. This is what a normal healthy person looks like. I hope Gymshark continue to promote this way, for men also and it's not just a publicity stunt or a one off. Some of the comments on this photo though, which I won't go into much detail about were mad. This girl was copping a beating from people on the internet for the way she looks. One of the main comments that stuck out the most for me was along the lines of; "This is neither healthy or a good portrayal of fitness" Why? Just because there are no abs on show all year round. Because she hasn't got her ass out? No unhealthy bodyfat %. That is not healthy or fitness to me. A lot of their following on social media, many of them young, think it's normal to have abs all year round. Thinking It's normal to starve yourself to get rid of those hip dips or obtain a thigh gap. I want to refer back to an email I wrote a few weeks ago about what fitness is. This picture doesn't show a lot of things about her. How much sleep she's getting. Her relationship with food. A healthy menstrual cycle. Her performance levels in the gym. Being comfortable in her own body despite the comments. I could go on. It's a start, albeit a small one, But it's a start in the right direction. Stretch marks, cellulite and rolls are all normal. I've got 2 of the above. Anyway, hope you're all having a great day.
20.01.2022 So many people including clients ask me about Herbalife. The bottom line with this product is that it is full of toxins, harmful to our body which they conveniently forget to mention on the labels, for obvious reasons. Herbalife products are full with fructose, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavors, colors and heaps of GMO. Any company that uses any of these ingredients listed above doesn't care about your health at all. They care about their money making, and that's why... they use these ingredients. They're cheap and easy to formulate into something that's high in taste, sweetness, and low in nutrtion. The fact that anyone and their grandma can become a herbalife distributor regardless of how much knowledge they have of nutrition and the human body says a lot here. You wouldnt let a hairdresser change your boiler so why let someone who hasnt got a clue about nutrtion or exercise give you advice!? The answer is simple here, stick to fresh foods and a solid exercise routine and you cannot go wrong!
19.01.2022 Good meal preperation is key for achieving your goals!! Think about what you are eating, what are you putting in your body today? Your body is like a sports car, fill it with cheap crap and it will run like crap, fill it with the right stuff it deserves and your performance will double!... Want to know more about nutrition and what to put in your body? Message me or speak to me in club for more details on how I can help you!
19.01.2022 The back is definitely the most impressive looking set of muscles for me, it's also the hardest set of muscles to isolate aswell, proper form and technique is key to building a big back! Come and speak to me in club for some pointers!!
18.01.2022 "Sam, what's the best exercise for my love handles?" "Whats the best exercise for these bits under my arms?" "What exercise will get rid of my back fat?"... "Sit ups are good for belly fat aren't they?" Now, these are questions I get every day. And rightfully so. Social media, some fitness influencers and ill informed coaches have led us to believe that certain exercises can get rid of unwanted fat in specific areas. I don't think I've gone a day at work where someone hasn't approached me and asked me one of the above. And thats ok. Understand that there is NO exercise for the fat under your arms, back fat, belly fat whatever fat it is. You need a caloric deficit. Imagine this. Theres a big leak in your bathroom downstairs. That leak is the problem. Your leak In this case is you eating too much for the amount you move. Too much consuming, not enough moving. There is water on the floor. The water on the floor in this case is your love handles. Now imagine exercise as cleaning up the floor. Whats is the biggest priority when entering that bathroom? Cleaning up the floor or stopping the leak? You need to sort out the leak from ruining your bathroom further. Before looking at an exercise to sort out your love handles you need to plug the leak of you eating too many calories. Its a calorie issue not an exercise specific issue. Once we have plugged the leak then we can sort out the puddle on the floor. P.s I don't always walk around the gym with a giant water bottle like a twat
18.01.2022 Who says girls cant lift weights? Heres my client Rowan absolutely smashing an arm workout last week, and shes been making all sorts of progress recently. Its the classic taboo that a lot of women think lifting weights is going to make them big and bulky, but when done correctly, lifting weights can burn as many or more calories than cardio alone, as well as keeping your metabolism firing throughout the day, plus you are going to have more muscle definition aswell, so whats the excuse? Girls, dont be afraid to pick up the weights, come and talk to me and get involved!
11.01.2022 Tried some plyometric press up variations last week! Great for explosive power! Come and ask me how to build some functional strength and power to benefit all types of sports, get ahead of your opponent!
10.01.2022 Just want to give a HUUUUGE shout out to my client, good friend and all round hunk Tom 'Coco Butterfield' Twyman. You have been an absolute pleasure to train mate!
07.01.2022 How do you go from A to B like my client in the picture below? Spend hours on a treadmill? Cut out carbs, pizza and mars bars?... Clean eating? Herbalife??? Don't worry, it's none of the above, but below I've listed some things you should consider when looking to lose fat and change your physique. NON-NEGOTIABLE - A Calorie deficit or eating below maintenance calories. - A bit of dedication, consistency and patience. EXTREMELY ADVISABLE - Resistance/Strength training at LEAST 2-3 times per week. - Adequate sleep (7-8 hours per night). - Making your fat loss plan and workout schedule as easy to stick to as possible. - Adequate protein intake (typically 1g per 1LB of bodyweight). - Be active 24/7. - Consume mostly whole foods (Think 80/20 rule. 80% whole foods and 20% whatever the hell you want). - A beer at the weekend NOT TO WORRY ABOUT - Trying to pick the 'best diet'. - Meal frequency, it has no effect on fat loss. Unless you are a performance based athlete or bodybuilder I wouldn't worry too much. - Metabolism (STOP WORRYING ABOUT IT!). - What time of the day you are eating has no effect on fat loss. - What time of day you train has no effect on fat loss. - Supplements (These can be added in after you've nailed the above). STUFF THAT CAN PISS OFF - Herbalife . - Avoiding certain foods. - Labelling foods good and bad - Fasted cardio. - Meal replacement shakes. - Juice cleanses. - Weight loss teas/shakes - Any type of quick fix. - Wankers that think sugar free drinks are bad Once you learn these fundamentals, fat loss becomes easier. Focus on what's important and if anyone try's to sell you fat loss shakes or metabolism boosters tell them to fuck off!!

Step 3: Add one cup of oatmeal Step 4: Add 8 egg whites Step 5: Add a banana and some natural peanut butter for taste Step 6: blend and drink!! Probably around 800cals, All REAL FOOD and no crappy chemicals in sight.
05.01.2022 What do you think fitness is? If you read a lot of those shite magazines like Mens health or the women's equivalent or you might even follow those wanky instagram models, you'd probably think that being fit means you need to be lean with veins popping out your abs. How did we get to this?... If you've ever been lean, and I mean like lean enough to go on the cover of a magazine you'd know how much it sucks balls. Tired, grumpy, no energy and probably miserable because you haven't had a slice of pizza in 6 weeks. What do I look at for me and my clients when it comes to being what is considered fit and healthy? Are you sleeping well? How are your stress levels? Are you progressing your lifts each week? Are you hitting your protein target each day? Hows your mental health? Can you train with no pain? How's your mobility? Are you eating a variety of different foods? Are you having a glass of wine with desert at the weekends? Are you quantifying your happiness based off of how lean you are or how much you weigh? I ain't gonna lie, Ive put on a few LBS over the last few weeks during ISO. Compared to some coaches and personal trainers out there, I'm definitely not in the best shape ever and I don't really care. I've got some love handles going on at the moment and my ass is wobbling all over the shop. But.. Im sleeping very well, 7-8 hours a night Not restricting myself food wise. Getting my NEATUP 24/7 (10k steps a day minimum) Im stronger than I've ever been. Generally just enjoying my self. Would I swap this for abs? No way. STOP quantifying your happiness based on a number on a scale or a body fat percentage test (thats a story for another day, those things are shite!)
