18.01.2022 Today marks the last day of Term 4 here at S.A.M Cockburn as we look back upon 2020 with mixed emotions. To say 2020 has been a challenging and unusual year is an understatement. At the same time, our students have shown an amazing resilience through it all. Parents would have seen the exceptional progress made by our Kindy to Year 6 students in Maths and English this year. It is deeply rewarding to see the passion and curiosity for learning as students attend every week, oft...en with new friends that they have brought along from their school. 12.01.2022 Today, students came back on campus to attend the AMC Preparation school holiday workshop. Here at S.A.M, we use the Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract (CPA) approach to teach Maths. Students are never too old or too smart to benefit from hands-on materials when learning. Students should feel they can use concrete materials when and if they need them. After all, we want our students to be critical and creative mathematicians.
