20.01.2022 Here is the drum, music and lion team. The music and lions; help to shift the air and scare/fight away any bad luck or unhappiness from the previous year. The drum helps Sammy run, it is his heartbeat and Sammy brings good luck to the town of Broome, its people and businesses.

09.01.2022 What a great effort all these Volunteers make to bring Sammy to life for Broome. THANK YOU. See you at the parade today. Sammy leads the parade at 3:30. He will stop at Coppo's Family Fun Day (at the Roey Hotel), rest his "legs" for a bit and then join the end of the parade. Sammy will bless the Chinese establishments in Carnarvon Street and enter the Mardi Gras, watch the performers, listen to the Float Parade Winners being announced and then leave to head back to the Civic Centre for a rest. That will end his 'official duties" until the Closing Ceremony BUT I am sure he will pop up again around town. He loves Shinju and the people of Broome.
05.01.2022 Here is Greg Quicke, chatting to the crowd about Sammy the Dragon. Greg was the head of Sammy for about 20 years and has many wonderful memories to share.. He remembers Jack Castellarin (now the head of Sammy) as an 11 year old being part of the Sammy music team.
