12.04.2022 Practices to calm mind and re-establish harmony. Foot massage: Apply oil at centre of sole. It relieves the stress of whole day and helps to have good sleep. Head massage: After a long day of work, just before bedtime, take few drops of lukewarm oil and apply to hair root all over scalp and perform a light head massage with finger tips. This practice does not take more than 5 minutes but highly beneficial for calming mind and promote restfull sleep.... Lavender / chamomile Aroma LAVENDER /chamomile(organic) essential oil, just a drop on rubbed on Murdhin marma (at anterior fontanel) and on both temporal area in circular motion is beneficial to reduce anxiety and stress. Soup with clarified butter In general lukewarm meals, mainly soups and stews pacify Vata due to opposite qualities from VATA. Make sure to add clarified butter in soup. Clarified butter pacifies vata Dosha. Mindfulness meditation Meditation is a simple yet powerful tool that takes us to a state of profound relaxation that dissolves fatigue and the accumulated stress that accelerates the aging process. During meditation, our breathing slows, our blood pressure and heart rate decrease, and stress hormone levels fall. By its very nature, meditation calms the mind, and when the mind is in a state of restful awareness, the body relaxes too. Hence having few minutes in a day time, morning or night for meditation may help reduce anxiety to great extent and establish positive thinking. Panchakarma Purification As nature sheds old leaves, we too need to release physical and mainly emotional toxins we carry in our cells. Suppressed emotion is STRESS. Panchakarma help release emotions that are deeply seated in cells, once released of old patterns cells receive maximum oxygen and nutrients. This process rejuvenates body and mind, may reduce physical and mental imbalances.
04.04.2022 Potato and leek soup Vata pacifying Pitta pacifying Kapha pacifying Weights & measures ingredients 1 tsp Black Pepper ... 1 tbsp Fennel Seeds 1 cup Leeks 4 whole Potato 2 pinch Red Pepper Flakes (Chili) 1/2 tsp Salt (Mineral Salt) 2 tbsp Sunflower Oil 6 cup Water preparation 1. Heat 4 cups of water on high. Meanwhile, peel and chop potatoes into approximately 1 inch cubes. Add to the water and bring to a boil. Meanwhile, slice the leeks. 2. Strain the potatoes after boiling for ten minutes. Save the water. Add 2c cool water to the potatoes (to cool them for the blender) and blend. Pour back into the hot liquid and return to a boil. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer on low heat for twenty minutes. 3. Serve hot and garnish with cracked pepper and a pinch of red pepper flakes.
