20.01.2022 I’m a strong believer in only keeping the horses that make u love what you are doing. Life is short; don’t torture urself or the horse

18.01.2022 Samsara Agistment is proud to announce it is currently full for long term agistment...... BUT we can still help you out with holiday care starting at just $10 a day; We will attend to feeds, rugs, flymasks, muzzles and even wash your cottons!!! That means you can relax knowing your horse is in the best of care. We also supply all your hay while you are away! All you need to do is provide any hard feed and mineral supps fluffy may be getting. If you prefer Fluffy to stay at home, we can also organise "in home" holiday care within a 10km radius of Cooba Way, Traralgon for no extra cost. Message me for prices outside of this distance.

15.01.2022 Interesting article from South Eastern Equine Hospital on horses teeth and caring for them- Note the recommendation that horses are sedated for dental work!!

We offer on property stable & yard hire, as well as feeding, cleaning, medicating & wound management; in fact whatever it is, we have your back!! 13.01.2022 Quote of the day: If you have a horse, it’s a long game. Couldn’t be truer!!

12.01.2022 Love these guys!! They always have insightful posts.....

12.01.2022 I know Traralgon is some distance from Bairnsdale and beyond but I have space for livestock on my property (fencing isn’t sheep proof unfortunately). Happy to have furry friends big & small, plenty of space to camp if want to be close to your animals too. Feel free to call or text me on 0400107646.

12.01.2022 Cheraton Mastermind- best looking pin up boy ever

09.01.2022 A big Samsara welcome to Kayla & Woody- a retired race horse. Woody is loving our green grass after coming all the way from SA!! He likes to pretend he is grumpy but it’s nothing a carrot can’t win over

09.01.2022 Just came across a great website on the good grasses to grow & the ones we want to avoid. Very useful resource!! https://www.greenpet.com.au/which-grass-is-best-for-horses/

08.01.2022 You learn something new everyday. What a horrible disease!!

07.01.2022 On the 14th of May poor resident Galloway (Teddy) was walking to our riding paddock when he went 3 legged lame beside me. Completely stumped I had a look under the foot & could see that small area of blood- turned out something had spiked his foot going up into the corrium. Very Lucky for both of us, it went up & out, away from vital structures. The bandaging & trying to keep the foot clean started immediately. I tried all types of boots to keep the bandages on & dry in the w...et weather. In the process of trying to dry his foot out over a particularly wet period I accidentally gave him a pressure area on the back of his heel! It took nearly 2 weeks for the skin to peel away, leaving a fairly deep wound. It’s been a nightmare 4 months with lots of set backs of my doing! But I’ve been pretty impressed with The way Teddy has taken it in his stride. He has learnt to stable, wear boots, soak his foot, stand 3 legged while I bandage for up to 10 min & all with me only wanting to strangle him twice . The puncture wound wouldn’t have been managed so easily without artimud plugging the hole & keeping the foot in general dry. And good old Pregaderm on the heel has stopped a generally dirty & difficult area heal over. Thanks to Horseland Traralgon for the endless supply of bandages. I have kept this bandaged day and night & there are no signs of proud flesh!! See more

04.01.2022 So so true! The mares in my life have always required a certain finesse but in return give their everything. My geldings? Well, it feels like I have to threaten corporal punishment before they agree lol
