02.01.2022 Parents and families with children in care : I am unsure if parents are aware of the pay cut educators will take due to covid 19 and this government , The pay cut will be a 50% cut this makes day care work almost unsustainable :( this just breaks my heart.... For me being kiwi it's even harder anything educators may have been entitled to I am not. This will effect me buying resources and the supply of food even harder for myself , I know you all know I have a family to provide for and there wellbeing is now sadly compromised. There are things that Beenleigh family daycare have advised parents in order to help this situation these include : Picking up earlier where possible so educators are not working as hard making the pay cut feel that little bit easy therefore if need be an educator can possibly have a second job or take on another at home job after day care hours or just ensure you are picking up on time . Help provide resources that you may have at home for example paints , paper , stationery used for arts and crafts and recycling that may be used to create things. Please also remember that educators are now having to buy more cleaning products, source hand sanitizer and all at a higher price which they won't be able to afford with the 50% pay cut but still have to buy in order to keep your children safe from the virus. There is no other essential worker taking a pay cut except day care workers so please bear this in mind and have some compassion for us all. The end result of this pay cut most likely is majority of us closing down and this has already started happening please support us educators.
